KitchenAid Mixer, needs work (Ballard)

Just the 5 quart Artisan tilt top mixer, it does not include paddles or bowl. This mixer needs work- it will mix, but there is something wrong with it- it seems misaligned and the top part jumps around even when locked in place. It might be broken? It might need a tuneup and recalibration. The KitchenAid repair center is in Redmond WA. Anyone want to take a swing at this?
