Durango evaporative cooler (Gill)

Bought new from someone years ago. Worked without issues for a couple summers then this past summer it started to not cool, would beep even after adding water to the chamber, and cleaned the air filter on the back. Makes a loud rumbling/rattling sound just from plugging it in.

Anyone who's handy with household appliances/ mechanic work would probably be able to fix this. We also just installed a new AC unit in the room last autumn, which is why I'm not taking the time to learn how to fix it
