I’ve got this setup running Linux well - it’s a 14 year old machine so not the fastest but it can browse the web, even watch YouTube and could certainly be used for writing or spreadsheets etc.
I started trying to use windows on it but it was really hard on the old hardware. Linux means it is more secure and using up to date software supported for many years to come.
I’d recommend you are somewhat familiar with Linux or willing to learn but it is honestly quite simple and I could run through it with you for 5mins at collection if you wish.
Important note: the battery is dead, it works fine in power so if it’s sitting on a desk, no problem but if you want backup power or to use it on the move, you can pick up replacement batteries on eBay for ~£20-35.
