Christmas Train Set -Plastic (Cloverhill 3)

I have had this plastic train set for many years that we would setup under the christmas tree each year. Last year we set it up and couldn't get the train to run. Not sure if something is wrong with it or maybe the batteries were dead but even so we are down sizing and won't be able to use this in the smaller home.
Many of the track connector pieces are broken but we didn't really run the train much so it wasn't a big problem. I was thinking of just gluing all the track pieces together but since we are moving into something smaller might be time to pass it on.

I will pick someone in a day or two for driveway pickup.

Also just in case if anyone knows where I can take it to be recycled and not just thrown in the dump that wold be helpful if no one wants it.
