Ok....so this still works but it does make a right bloody noise. Probably just needs a good service. Only getting rid of it as I've now got wool carpets that I cant use a vacuum that has rotating (or any!) bristles.
I have tried to clean as best I can, the rotating bristles section as noone wants to clean out someone elses hair do they! But the rest of it is to be very honest, filthy so it will need a good scrub. I just haven't got the time I'm afraid!
