I live in a house surrounded by gum trees and have tried many methods of keeping my gutters leaf free with no luck. This is the remains of my latest method. See photos.

i have 66 1 mtr lengths if this round very hairy caterpillar looking things, they sit in the gutter and stop blown in leaves etc getting in a clocking the gutter and down pipes. On the side of the house where we have no gum trees they work fine but we have decided they are all not for us.

all have been removed after spending a couple of years on the roof and remain in great condition, all be it a bit dirty. If you have a house that gets blown in leaves from the neighbourhood or less prolific leaf droppers these would work well.
