wood pieces (wem shrewsbury whitchurch)

I like to practice carpentry and would like some wood pieces to practice on without paying hardware stores a fortune for pieces of timber. Hardwood preferred but soft wood like pine offcuts are ok too. Fairly small lengths preferred but can fit 1 meter lengths in my car. Thanks. I would like a fair amount please if possible and must be dry.
