Hello, I have a Fluval Flex 123L planted tank equipped with an airstone, pump, and heater. It’s set up using the Walstad method, so it’s a fully natural ecosystem with a soil base and sand cap. The tank has been running for over a year and is well-established. All plants are real, no plastic. LED light colours can be changed, set on timer, and replicate nature storms, etc. Also have a timed feader, lots of food and water conditioning.

The community includes black+orange, plus blue+white guppies that breed regularly, three penguin tetras that help control fry numbers, a clown pleco, two Siamese algae eaters, and a variety of snails that help keep the tank clean.

Thanks to the Walstad method, maintenance is minimal, the tank only needs occasional top-ups to replace evaporated water, no regular water changes, and fish only need feeding a couple of times a week. It’s ideal for someone who appreciates a natural, low-maintenance aquarium and understands the balance of nature.
