Pioneer HD/DVD recorder and Surround sound system (GU12)

Pioneer DVR-LX60D with matching surround sound system RCS-LX60D.
Main unit records onto hard drive, plays DVDs and CDs, and will write DVDs from hard drive recordings.
Surround sound has subwoofer and 6 auxiliary speakers.

Unfortunately I have the remote controls but they no longer work so I can’t fully test it, you need a remote to power on the subwoofer and sound.
CD player is reading disks OK and all was working when packed up 7 years ago, so no reason to expect it not to work if remote controls can be sorted.
Don't know why remote for HD/DVD recorder is not working, the batteries have leaked in the subwoofer remote.
