Interesting old engineering books (Salthill & Monkstown DART)

There are some fascinating articles & gorgeous diagrams in these five volumes of the Proceedings of the Institute of Civil Engineers (from1894 to 1910). Topics range from coastal erosion and boiler explosions to the "new" Clyde bridge in Glasgow with a lot of interest in railway curves in many parts of the world, performance of concrete etc. All in the days of log tables and slide rules.

The books themselves are complete if a little dusty. They could give endless pleasure to the retired engineer. And you won't get them anywhere else!
