Working Bike (Near Hurstville Station)

I want a bike that can allow my son to travel to and from school. With the rising fuel costs, it is hard for me to drive him to and from school every day. It would be greatly appreciated if we could get a bike with a 54-56 cm frame (doesn't have to be exact). It would be for it to be in working condition and a road safe bikes, as repairs are expensive.
