I recall that sometimes people need old carpets for lining ponds and such like.
I am replacing a load and it. So if you want some, you are very welcome to come take some.
One less thing in landfill (and one less run to Carnaby tip for me!)
Here are some ideas for reusing old carpet that the wonderful internet suggests:-
- Lay down old carpet in a vegetable garden to pull double duty as a weed mat and pathway.
- Cut it up into small pieces to place under the legs of a heavy table or chair that needs to be moved. This helps the furniture slide across a hardwood floor without you having to lift it. Also protects carpets underneath.
- Glue carpeting to a wood post to create a scratching post.
- Fold a scrap over in two to kneel on when you garden.
