Old or broken paving slabs for use behind shed. (Felpham PO22)

I'm trying to stop the weeds and other annual plant growth from behind my shed. I've tried digging out the roots but some of them are huge, others go really deep. Any size, old or broken would be most gratefully received. Thank you for reading.
