Wireless printer and cartridges (Summertown OX2)

Black Canon Pixma MG8150. It switches on and connects to WiFi, but comes up with an error message saying “Ink absorber full”. From my research you can’t buy a new ink absorber, but I thought someone here might either know how to fix it, or like it for parts! Has worked well until now, it’s probably 8 years old. Collect from Sunnymead/North Oxford.
