Office Chair For Repair (CT11)

Office chair provided for homeworking. The central metal pillar has broken through the plastic wheelbase, past where the wheels sit. Work won't take it back and I'd rather not dump something in otherwise good condition. I reckon someone craftier than me could fix this, possibly with a new wheelbase.
