Headboard and frame are dark wood (see photos) and the mattress is in good shape BUT the box spring is missing. There are slats that span between the frame and used to hold the box spring and mattress, so you'll need to put something down on them -- either a queen box spring or perhaps a piece of plywood for a platform.
