Large vessell for o/d aquarium (Flemington)

I'm looking for an alternative to buying a commercial vessell for an outdoor no filter/pump aquarium. Intention is to house native glass shrimp and pygmy perch in a self sustaining setup of locally sourced substrate and endemic water plants. Suitable options would include glazed terracotta pots, Concrete planters, Large sink/basin, cast iron firepits, Galvanised Steel Stock Tanks or Metal Wash Tubs would be perfect. Happy to look into the suitability of anything else that might do the same job as the examples I've listed. Only concerns are impacts on water PH, temperature fluctuactions and water leak/seapage.
