Just dusted this thing off and no longer supported by Apple I put Ubuntu Linux on it so there is a secure up to date OS. Perfectly fine for basic web browsing maybe YouTube and working with office documents.
The screen is a little yellowed along the bottom but otherwise it runs well. It has a 500GB SSD inside and 12GB of ram.
Ideally you should be comfortable with Linux but it is quite user friendly. I’ve updated it to latest versions and wiped my wifi network from it otherwise it’s not been used.
