Ex-waterbutt - veg planter or composter? (Eversley RG40)

Our new waterbutt fell over in the wind and cracked at the bottom, despite ninja attempts to mend it, it still won,t work as a water butt!
However, freeglers i am sure it has more life - cut off the top and use it as a veg planter for beans , potatoes, carrots etc, or use it for compost, or keep old leaves.. let me know if you want it - or it is sadly heading for the dump.
