The good news: cassette recorder/player in working order; has built in speaker and headphone socket. Originally intended for dictation/note taking, so has variable speed control with a clicky centre dentente for standard speed. Needs 2x AA batteries.
The less good news: it's mono only for both recording and playback (it accepts the usual stereo headphones but the playback is mono), so existing stereo cassettes will play back in mono. Fine if you can live with that.
