I’m looking for unwanted old photographs, vintage snapshots, loose prints and photographic collections that might otherwise end up being thrown away.
I’m happy to take anything from a small envelope of photographs to boxes of loose prints or larger unsorted collections, and I can collect locally.
I’m particularly interested in photographs showing:
* Old street scenes, shops, pubs and town centres
* Liverpool, Merseyside, North Wales and local history
* Railways, stations, steam trains and transport
* Classic cars, buses, motorcycles and commercial vehicles
* Aircraft, airports, ships and military subjects
* Factories, docks, mines, shipyards and workplaces
* 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s everyday life
* Holidays, seaside resorts and foreign travel
* Old advertising, petrol stations and shop fronts
* Nightlife, clubs, music, festivals and events
* Demolished buildings or places that have completely changed
* Fashion, youth culture and interesting social history
* Unusual, funny, candid or simply beautiful snapshots
I’m working on a project built around rescuing forgotten photographs and giving them a second life. The idea is to preserve interesting old images, share some of the stories and details hidden in them, and stop photographs that may have sat unseen for decades from simply disappearing.
I’m especially interested in dated, labelled or location-specific photographs, but completely unsorted boxes are absolutely fine — you don’t need to know who or what is pictured.
If you have old photographs you no longer want, please get in touch rather than throwing them away. I’d love to give them a new home and help keep those little pieces of history alive.
