🤔 What is an unattended collection?

➡️ As long as my collection availability states unattended collections are okay, it means I leave the item in a part of the communal stairwell which is usually ignored/unseen by others. You can come, use a door code I will provide to you, and collect the item, without me needing to be present. You can collect any time until the end of the day (midnight), after which the item will likely be removed. There is a risk of disappointment if someone else were to take the item, so generally I prefer attended collections.

🤔 Is this still available?

➡️ If the post is not marked as promised or gifted, then it is still available. If it is marked promised, it means someone has arranged collection but the item has not been collected - you can message me but I will only reply if the person it has been promised to fails to collect. If it is marked as gifted, it has been given away and is no longer available.

🤔 Who gets the item if several people message you?

➡️ I decide who to offer the item to based on the circumstances of each giveaway. I may consider their contributions to the community, how soon they can collect, or both. I may wait several days before choosing someone so that I can give the item to a person who contributes to the community, or I may choose the first suitable person who can collect within my availability. It depends on the circumstances of each giveaway.

🤔 Why didn't you reply to me?

➡️ I receive a lot of messages, so unfortunately I cannot reply to everyone individually. If you haven't heard back and the post is still active, please assume I am either arranging the item with someone else or have decided not to proceed with your request.

🤔 What if I can't make any time?

➡️ Please do not message me requesting times outside of my availability. Please check the description as I may be offering postage.

🤔 What if the post is still up after all of the dates have passed?

➡️ Please message me, and I will provide a new set of dates and times to you, as well as update the post.

🤔 Where are you?

➡️ I am in central Woolwich, and only a few minutes walk from all of the bus stops and stations. Temporary parking is also available in an alleyway nearby. The full address and instructions will be provided on the day of collection.

🤔 Can someone else collect it for me / can I collect this for someone else?

➡️ Of course, just let me know the name of the person who will be collecting or receiving the item, so I know who to expect.

🤔 Can I send a courier to collect it?

➡️ I don't accept courier collections, as I need to know exactly when someone is arriving and cannot accommodate collections outside the availability shown above.

🤔 What happens if I am late?

➡️ If you told me you are running late, but it is still within my availability, this is okay. If your lateness pushes me outside of my availability, we will have to rearrange.

🤔 What happens if I don't turn up?

➡️ If you do not turn up and have not contacted me, I will consider the collection cancelled, block your account, and offer the item to someone else.

🤔 Can you deliver it?

➡️ Check the description to see whether I am offering delivery - if I am, message me. If it isn't mentioned in the description, then I am not offering it on this item.

🤔 Can I swap something or offer something in return?

➡️ No. These are free giveaways, not sales or swaps. Please do not offer money (other than covering delivery/postage costs), another item, or anything else in exchange for the item. My decision about who receives an item is based on their contributions to this platform and how soon they can collect, not on what someone can offer me in return.

🤔 Can I have your mobile number?

➡️ I do not provide my mobile number, even if you provide yours first. All communications must stay on the platform.

🤔 What if I change my mind?

➡️ Please tell me as soon as possible. While I will offer the item to someone else, communicating with me keeps the door open for you to collect future items.

🤔 Why do you sound like a bit of an arse?

➡️ I have given away hundreds of items over the years (I reset my account when I relocate), and while many users are communicative, genuine, and grateful to receive free items, there are also plenty of others who are demanding, ask questions that are already answered, don't read the description, give me a life story I don't need to hear, only ever take take take, mess me around, or send multiple messages. Only if you give items away yourself will you understand these frustrations, which is one reason I often give preference to people who have contributed to the community themselves. I focus my time on those who display the positive behaviours - to me, it's about ethics, respect, and managing my time.
