Made as a prototype by a small Midlands company c.1980. Large enough to take a full-size double bass with low-C extension (upper bout 57 cm, lower 67, height 186) with space all round. It will accommodate a 3/4 instrument in its gig bag. Two industrial nylon wheels.
The case has been in an aircraft hold half a dozen times and chained up in the back of an orchestra pit, when commuting with a bass was not an option. Robust, but not a looker!
