A MacBook (Southsea PO5)

Hi all, I’m a final-year university student and my laptop is struggling to get me through the year.

Liquid got into the keyboard at some point and crystallised, so the keys are stuck and unusable. I have to carry an external keyboard everywhere. The battery is also failing, so I have to bring the charger on every uni day too. I’m on campus 3 days a week for 4-5 hours, so that’s a lot of extra weight.

It has also shut off on me without warning before, which is stressful when I’m working on coursework.

I live with just my Mum, and she isn’t in a position to buy me a working laptop right now. I can’t afford one myself either.

I’m not after anything new. I’d just like a reliable laptop that lasts me a couple of years until I can buy my own. If anyone has an old MacBook they no longer use, or can help towards one, it would make a big difference to my final year.
