Starling nestbox (Cliftonville CT9)

Homemade nestbox for starlings built to a RSPB design.

Made from 18mm plywood, all joints glued and screwed save for base which is screwed only to allow removal for cleaning at the end of a nesting season.

Please let me know where and how you propose to put the box up as this will determine how many holes it needs drilling into it. RSPB website provides advice about siting a next box.

If you have a cat let me know and I can advise as to how best protect fledgling birds leaving the nestbox.

Dimensions height 49 cms width 18.5 cms depth 22 cms. It is quite heavy so will need robust fixings.
