It's the time of year for homemade soup. This is a recipe for basic stock that can be used as the base in many soups. You can make it vegetable stock or chicken stock, and in true fashion of Trash Nothing, it is made from all of the scraps of vegetables that you have saved and frozen until you have enough. I try to use organic or homegrown vegetables. Super good and super cheap!!! Feel free to add other vegetables to deepen the flavor

The threads work with regular mouth canning bands. These originally had jelly, pickles, and lard in them, and I have canned tomatoes and tomato sauce in them. These could also be used for dry storage. If you are wanting to start food prep and storage or just supplement your current stash of jars, these would be perfect.
