LED replacement for fluorescent (Dorking RH4)
LED replacement for fluorescent tube type FHE28W/T5/865 Purchased in error as not compatible with my kitchen light (would need rewiring) Turns out, to use this in a light with built in ballast, the light has to be rewired to have no ballast and 240v straight to the terminals on the tube. But would work fine in a light fitting that already has LED tubes 1149mm long T5 18w 865. Some blurb:- The Osram SubstiTUBE T5 AC is an LED retrofit tube designed to replace traditional T5 fluorescent lamps with a G5 base, operating directly on AC mains voltage (220–240V) rather than through an external ballast. Key Features • Direct Mains Operation: It connects directly to the AC power supply, bypassing the existing electronic or magnetic ballast. • Base Type: Features a standard G5 bi-pin socket. • Construction: Made of glass with a special PET coating providing shatter and splinter protection (suitable for environments like the food industry). • Lifespan: Rated for up to 50,000 hours of operation. • Installation Note: Because it runs directly on mains power, fixtures with traditional ballasts must be rewired to bypass the control gear before installation Taker collects South Dorking RH4 Advertised on other sites
