Request: Yarn Donations (East York) Expired I am in search of any yarn donations to make quillows for the homeless in Toronto. The yarn can be any colour and any weight and any fibre. I make 12 inch squares and sew them together to make these. A quillow is a blanket that folds up to make a pillow. People can sit on the pillow, rest their heads or unfold it and use it as a blanket. My quillows will also have a carrying strap for easier transport. One photo is how the quillow is folded, the next is one of the squares I have made for the quillow. Request: Fundraising Items (East York) Expired Hello Everyone, My name is Veronica. Some have seen my other posts about asking for donations for the use of activities for the seniors I work with. Recently, however, I have been suffering from Long Covid symptoms. I have lost my job and my business as I have been doing it. I have had to rethink they way I need to offer my services to the older adults. I can no longer go to them in their homes or work in Long Term Care Homes. My mobility will not allow this to happen. So, I have come up with opening a senior drop in centre. I have most of the activities to open a centre but I do not have the funds to rent a space yet. This is where you can help me. At my place of residence we are planning a garage sale. We do not have a definite date yet, but are working on it. I would like to ask if you have things that are in really good shape that you could donate to me to resell at a garage sale, it would help me start raising funds to open a space. I would like to ask that if you do have something to donate to me, please drop it off to me near Broadview Avenue and Mortimer Avenue as my mobility will not allow me to travel very far or I can meet you at Broadview Subway Station.
