Free: Vibrant Twin quilt bedspread&Pillow (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) This is a WELL-loved twin quilt bedspread. It's got age/wear&tear on it (see photos pls) which is why we're suggesting it as fabulous pet bedding, a bed cover for a really tucked away bedroom or a sewing restoration project for someone with a lot of time on their hands. These vibrant colors will call to your inner Barbie: pinks, oranges and reds! Colors on the spread are faded in comparison to the pillow - the pillow is in great shape. (Was a mostly decorative pillow.) Please be aware the bedspread has stitching coming undone in many places, there is wear along the edges, and the batting between layers is uneven in places. (Boy, I'm really *selling* this one! 😂) But it was well cared for during its life with us; it's just showing its age. Thanks for reading and Freecycling 😊

Free: Decorative wall panel (53th and Boughton Rd) Gifted Need a stylish accent for your walls? This is a 5/16" x 42" x 93" Natural Oak Decorative Slat Wall Panel from Home Depot. It has been trimmed down slightly from its original size of 5/16" x 48" x 96" Bought one too many panels for our project. (We used this as an accent wall in a music room.) Free: 2 large, solid mirrors - see sizes (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Two solid mirrors. One from the back of a bar cabinet and the other from a bathroom remodel. One is 30 inches by 36 inches. (It was used as a coffee table top.) The second one pictured is 33 inches by 20 inches with a beveled edge. This one has installation material on the back which can be removed- or used to raise the mirror above a surface if used horizontally (like on a table as a reflective base.) This was propped against a wall in the garage so we could make sure our shoes were on the right feet before heading out for the day (jk.) You are welcome to take one or both. Free: 7 Large Plastic Empty Wire Spools (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Gifted Need something stored on a spool? Rope? Twine? Yarn?? We currently have seven (quantity) of 8" wide, 12" tall, empty, hard gray plastic spools. The center opening is 1 1/4" diameter. Previously they held audio wire. Now they hold a scant coating of dust from garage storage, but they're ready to help you store whatever you have in mind! Thanks for reading and Freecycling!

Free: Sturdy floor shelf unit (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Gifted ~ 4 ft. 2 in. tall x ~ 16" wide x ~ 8 1/2" deep (lowest shelf). Solid wood construction (heavy!) Stored in garage so dusty and could use a cleaning, but has potential as a beautiful indoor piece. (Anyone need a summer project?) Not sure the wood, but for sure not pine.

Free: D-Lead Professional PaintTest Kits (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Gifted This is the "D-Lead" EPA recognized kit to test for lead on painted surfaces. Good for older homes where the surface/home was last painted before 1978. Newer applications of paint should seal the offending surface- unless you've got chipping happening which we had in our case. So we tested just to be safe before removing the rest of the chipped paint. 2 kits here. 1 kit has one less vial/test (6) as that's the one we used. The second kit has 7 vials/tests. The company sent us two kits since the sampling tool (like a hole punch) was missing from the first kit. Take one or both kits. Expiration date: 9/2026. From AI: "Lead-based paint was banned for residential use in Illinois, as part of the federal ban, in 1978. Any house built before this year likely contains lead-based paint, and Illinois ranks high nationally for housing units with this risk. Thanks for reading.

Free: Unique Empty Lego Containers (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Gifted These are EMPTY LEGO Technic, LEGO Dinosaurs, and one LEGO Bionical containers. Great to ... store Legos in, use as unique gift containers or play containers on their own. (Are they collectible?) They are a bit dusty on the outside; could use a good wipe down/rinse. Free: "Flex Grate"brand Downspout Filters (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Gifted 2 downspout filter attachments to divert leaves and prevent them from clogging your drainage system. They work well. (We saved them when we replaced our gutters recently. They were used for about two seasons.) We placed them at the bottom of our downspouts but did not attach them with screws so they are "like new" but a little dirty. Free: Deluxe Bubble Wrap (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Gifted These are not your run-of-the-mill "Air Pillows" -- although we have some of those too! This is heavy plastic, rectangular cell, bubble wrap. It was used to cushion a guitar for shipping. There are many 2' x 2' sections, and then a longer length (pls. see pics.) Free: Large amount of Soft, White Fabric (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Gifted This was originally purchased for use as a background for photography. This is in two pieces. The first piece is 4 foot long by 4 foot 3 inches wide. (It was cut from the original piece.) The second piece is considerably longer: 4'3" wide by 13 1/2 feet long (162"). Not sure what kind of fabric but my guess is a cotton flannel-type material. Nice and soft. Note: the second photo shows the longer length folded in half. Will be using the "Fair Chance" policy. Free: Older Altec Computer Speakers (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Gifted "Altec Lansing Multimedia Speaker System, ACS41" - two speakers plus a power source for a Gateway 2000 computer(?) These have been gathering dust in our garage. (No extra charge for the dust.) Not sure if they work or not. I think we had them plugged into a boombox at some point. (Remember those?) As I'm typing this I'm realizing it may be best for everyone if these went to electronics recycling. But in the off chance someone can repurpose them or enshrine them in their personal "Museum of Old Tech", I'll offer them here. Thanks for reading.

Request: Mobile wire racks (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Expired Might be a longshot, but ... hoping someone has this - or a form of this - heavy duty wire spool rack in their hobby or garage workspace that they're no longer using. Free: Atomy Toothpaste (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Gifted 7.05 oz. Atomy toothpaste. Features green tea extract and propolis extract (from bees.) This has been opened and sampled/used once, but didn't care for the taste (it's a strong minty-ish flavor.) So it's basically full. Again, NOTE: this has been used once (applied to a toothbrush.) An extra amount was squeezed out before cap was closed to prepare for gifting. For more info:

Request: Source for food-safe spot welding (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.) Expired Anyone know of an outlet/storefront/individual that/who does minor spot welding work? We have two kitchen tools that need quick spot welds. (Food safe.) They're pretty durable otherwise, which is why we'd love to hang onto them. Ideally within 5 miles of us. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
