I bet you love fresh juicy strawberries on a warm sunny summer’s day with cream – yes? So why not grow some for yourself? They don’t require much effort. Every year they produce runners & can multiply 3x times & the parent plants live for several years; so you’ll have lots of plants in future years. Plant in a sunny position on the same day as collected, water for the first week & then only when the garden has overly dry / hot conditions & talk to them nicely; ‘tis easy peasy.

Free: Fridge Freezer (Parson's Heath CO4) Expired Fridge Freezer model T424SL. Now let me tell you, the fridge cools down nicely, however the freezer doesn't cool but may still be used as storage space. I think that the tube to the freezer maybe blocked & may be easily restored to full operational function. Dimension: H1200mm, W535mm, D585mm. It is a smallish FF & should fit inside a hatchback car with the rear seats folded down. I may be able to help move it, if my dodgy back is okay on the day of collection. NB. I will taken this to the council recycling site on Tuesday 21st if no one wants this.

Free: French Sorrel (edible). (Parson's Heath CO4) Gifted Hi folks, I'm offering some French Sorrel; either a) fresh leaves, b) rooted plants, c) baby seedlings, d) seed heads. You tell me what is your choice & I’ll prep them for you. My sorrel produces leaves all year & even in the winter. I eat sorrel instead of & in addition to lettuce, raw & in salads / sandwiches - yum. Sorrel has proved far more resistant to slugs or snails than lettuce & crops far more heavily throughout the year. It also appears to be perennial, so it may feed you for life. What on earth is sorrel, I hear you say? "The edible bright green leaves of French Sorrel have an acidic flavour which is reduced on cooking. It can be used in salads, fish dishes and soups. It will grow to a height of about 60cm.” Please bring a bag to take the plants. Regards, John.

Free: Old AAT magazines. (Parson's Heath CO4) Gifted Old AAT magazines dating around 2009 - 2012 (Association of Accounting Technicians). They may be useful to someone studying accountancy or book-keeping. The principles of accountancy do not change that much over time, but the law does. I may offer some old ACCA & CIMA textbooks available at a later date.

Free: Grape Vine Cuttings. (Parson's Heath CO4) Gifted Do you like wine? Well I do & have made wine on & off for 35 years or so; (yum -slurp). I have some cuttings from one of my grape vines (black grapes) that can be used to grow more vines. At this time of year they are green cuttings. Just cut them to 6" - 8" in length, dip in hormone rooting powder (optional), plant in a pot, water & talk nicely to them. In a couple of months you should have roots & new leaves sprouting. The photo shown is an old one of my vine taken when the grapes were still young & green. New vines from a garden center can cost £10 - £25 each. It costs nothing but a little effort & patience to grow your own for nothing. There are many videos on You Tube to show you how to start them off & the later care, pruning & wine making etc.
