Free: Compact film cameras (Kendal LA9) Gifted Olympus XA, with fixed lens and aperture priority options, and a detachable flash. Olympus μ, with zoom lens and inbuilt flash. Both cameras were working when last used (admittedly this was several years ago so no idea if currently working), and have been stored with the batteries out, however the XA has a faulty connection between the camera and the flashgun and the flash wasn’t working when last used. Free: Camping chairs (Kendal LA9) Gifted Two old-fashioned but comfy camping chairs with canvas seats and backs. These are low to the ground; the side rails of the seats are about 6.5” from the ground at their mid-point. This allows them to fold to a much less bulky package than full-height chairs so ideal for car camping or maybe a campervan, although a little agility is required to get out of them! Free: Large pot (Kendal LA9) Gifted Large aluminium pot in pretty good condition. Surface scratches from use but plenty of life left in it, and lid fits well. 25cm diameter and 12cm deep; just under 6 litres to the brim. It’s from pre-dishwasher days so best washed by hand. Good sturdy pot, but domestic rather than the extra-thick catering type. To be collected from Kendal, or I can deliver locally.

Free: Unpaired knitting needles (Kendal LA9) Gifted Lonely, single knitting needles seek partners, or a new purpose in life. I’ve been given a collection of un-paired needles in various sizes, including a few DPNs, so if you need one to make a pair, let me know and I’ll see if I have one in the right size. Or they can be re-purposed; I once successfully mended the hinge of a letterbox flap with an old knitting needle. There are enough here for many letterboxes! Free: Knitting bag frame (Kendal LA9) Gifted I’ve been given a knitting bag to find a new home for. The bag was stitched on to the frame, and I unpicked it to wash it, but the fabric was in poor condition so I’m offering the frame to anyone who would like to make a new bag for it. Free: Cake boards (Kendal LA9) Expired Just in time for your Christmas cakes: Two silver-coloured cake boards. The larger and thicker one is 275mm square, the thinner one 245mm square. Free: Pair of bed covers for single beds/throws (Kendal LA9) Gifted Pair of cotton bedcovers for single beds, with woven textured design. They measure 8ft X 6ft (240 X 180cm). One has pale yellow marks at one edge, near a corner; I think it has been in prolonged contact with a castor (see second photo). Both newly washed. Also suitable as throws for settee. Free: Thermal curtain lining fabric (Kendal LA9) Gifted Four lengths of fleece-lined curtain lining fabric, reclaimed from a pair of curtains which I have dismantled. Each is 134cm wide (standard bolt width) X 214cm long. The sun has bleached the fabric in places but it is still in good condition. Newly washed. Give your curtains a cosy lining before the winter! Free: Birthday candles (Kendal LA9) Expired This one's a long shot. Can anyone use a set of "Happy Birthday" candles which have been lit and it shows? Once they are re-lit it shouldn't be so obvious. Free: 70th Birthday Decorations (Kendal LA9) Gifted The banner and bunting were received from Freegle and have done their job, so now it's someone else's turn to add a touch of good taste to their party with these glitzy plastic decorations! Banner 2.5m long, bunting on a 4.5m string. Also two candles for a 70th birthday. They have been lit but there's only a very slight dip in the top of each one. Once they're lit no-one will notice! Collect from Kendal or I can deliver locally.

Free: Goose-down KS duvet (Kendal LA9) Gifted Beautiful goose-down King Size duvet, 13.5 tog. It has spent much of its existence in clean, dry storage, as it’s too warm for us, but it does have some pale marks. I have machine-washed and dried the duvet thoroughly just before advertising, which has reduced the marks but not quite removed them, and which has restored the loft. Free: Sturmey Archer SRC-5 (W) Gear Hub (for spares/repair) (Kendal LA9) Expired 5-speed hub gear for bicycle, with coaster brake. I fitted this to my bike in 2016 and it has never worked satisfactorily; it’s difficult to adjust and I could often only get three or four gears working at a time. I’ve finally given up on it, and if anyone has the expertise to fix it, or can use it for spare parts, they’re (more than) welcome to it! Hub flange has 36 holes, and is for dropout spacing 128mm To be collected from Kendal, or I can deliver locally.

Free: Oil colours, of varying ages. (Kendal LA9) Gifted Old oil paints; the small tubes are stiff when squeezed but not solid, although I haven’t opened them recently. Can anybody revive these and make use of them? See photo for colours; the Talens and two Van Gogh tubes are newer and most likely to be fresh. All to go together. Free: Magnolia Emulsion Paint (Kendal LA9) Gifted Almost-full 2.5 litre container of Johnstone’s Silk emulsion paint, in Magnolia. This came from a house clearance so I’ve no idea when it was opened. The paint had separated, and with a lot of stirring it’s looking nearly smooth, but I think it needs a paint-mixer fitting for a power drill, or other electric mixer, to mix it thoroughly enough for use. I’ve tested it and it dries properly. To be collected from Kendal, or I can deliver locally.

Free: Bed frame, continental king size (Kendal LA9) Gifted IKEA Sundborn bed frame, Continental king size, takes mattress 160 X 200cm. This mattress size is available in this country. May even take 2 X 80cm mattresses, for couples who need different mattresses, but I haven’t tried that. Overall dimensions: Length 212cm, Width 168cm, Height 84cm. Has a few scratches from having moved house. Will be dismantled ready for collection, from Kendal, but I am unable to deliver it. Will leave a while to allow people to reply.

Three of the ten supports of the top basket have broken at the base but I’m sure that these could be reinforced. Request: Old newspapers (Kendal LA9) Received A friend is looking after an underweight hedgehog for the winter, and I'll be taking it over Christmas. If anyone has a bundle of newspapers they could give us to line its box (she's running out too!) I'd be very grateful. Broadsheet or tabloid, leftwing or right, the hog isn't fussy in its reading material. I can collect in the Kendal area. Thank you. Catherine

Free: Circular base for Christmas decoration (Kendal LA9) Gifted This used to be filled with "Oasis", but could be used with chicken wire, moss or other non-plastic substitute, to make a horizontal Christmas wreath. Free: Two small folding tables (Kendal LA9) Gifted Two small folding tables, 38 X 48cm tops, height 66cm. These came from the flat of an elderly smoker, and weren't very clean; I have scrubbed them thoroughly, with hot water and disinfectant, and they're now OK, but at least they could be useful in a shed or greenhouse.
