Free: Sea monkey / brine shrimp eggs plus tank (Rodbourne SN2) Plastic fish bowl, USB powered air stone, food scoops, and brine shrimp eggs. Additionally, you'll need salty water and food - spirulina powder. 1 litre of dechlorinated water (we used bottled) to 1 tablespoon of sea salt, and no more than a couple of teaspoons of eggs, I think! There are loads of eggs, so you can experiment. You will occasionally have to top up the water. Our kid has finally lost interest after keeping them (and watching them reproduce) for a couple of years! Or you can breed them to feed your fish...

Request: Concrete slabs (Liden SN3) Expired The Richard Jefferies Museum is on the hunt for 450x450mm (or thereabouts) concrete slabs to create wheelchair accessible paths throughout our community garden. We have been very fortunate to have a good amount gifted to us already (see photo), but we need more. Our plan is to completely rejuvenate our allotment area into a beautiful community garden where people can choose to grow fruits, vegetables, and flowers, or simply visit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Please contact us if you have concrete slabs you are looking to re-home - we will make good use of them, and save something else from going to landfill!

Free: Water Kefir Grains (Rodbourne SN2) Expired Very lively water kefir grains for all your dairy-free fermentation needs. Makes a lovely drink, my kids love it. It's super productive, now I have many jars of excess grains in my fridge. Easy to brew to make your own probiotic drink, it only needs sugar and (boiled, then cooled, or bottled) water. Each jar makes enough for two litres of water kefir (use 8 tablespoons of sugar). Stir and let it sit for a couple of days, and once it stops smelling sugary, it's ready. Strain with a sieve into glass or plastic bottles and refrigerate. Do not store in metal, it goes all funny. Free to collect or I can drop off if on my way somewhere.

Request: Apples (Liden SN3) Expired The Richard Jefferies Museum is looking for apples! We host a heritage event every year, using vintage machinery to crush apples. The event is free and open to the public from 1pm on the last Sunday in September. With this year's early harvest, we have managed to get some apples, but we're worried we won't have enough for the day. If you have any apples going spare, please let us know. You can drop them off at the museum in the crate (pictured), or get in touch if you need me to collect.

Free: Windfall apples (Rodbourne SN2) Gifted Half our old apple tree fell over with the weight of our apple crop this year. Pictured is less than half a bag of the three bags we have collected so far. I'm going to make as much pie filling, chutney, and apple butter as I can, but does anyone want any not-quite-ripe yet cooking apples? Bring your own bag to collect!

Free: Elbow patches (Rodbourne SN2) Expired Unpicked some elbow patches from a Zara cardigan. They are more brown than they appear in the photo. Unsure of material, but I doubt it's leather. 8cm x 13cm, approximately. Might be useful for patching stuff or costuming purposes, perhaps?
