Free: Law study books (Poplar E14) Gifted See photo. Law essays 2014, Legal rules 2010. I would expect these books still to be helpful, as they are about how to study law, rather than teaching the details. I also have 2 boxes of law textbooks and casebooks, but these are dated 2013 or earlier so probably not useful any more.

Free: Dining chairs for upcycling (Bow E3) 4 wooden chairs with arms. Foam seat and backrest, with dark green fabric. Foam has gone a bit hard. On one chair, the backrest wood has split and there's a hole in the fabric on the seat. Otherwise, the frames are strong. The chairs can be used as they are, but would make a good project for re-upholstering. Happy to split them if you don't want all four. Collection by arrangement from a church building in Grove Road.

Request: Dumb phone for elderly friend (Poplar E14) Received Need a basic phone for an elderly friend switching from landline to mobile. He does not use any tech, and a smart phone would be too confusing. He's been trying this Nokia 105 which I got him based on online recommendations, and he understands how to use it. However, the buttons are too sensitive, especially the square menu button, and it often shoots ahead two or more steps at a time, which confuses him. A reliable old Nokia with a similar keypad to the above might be easiest for him to get used to. He only wants to make and receive calls. These old phones only use 2G, but that's fine.

Free: 2 white dining chairs (Poplar E14) Expired Clean white dining chairs. Strong steel frames, comfortable padded seat, vinyl zipped sleeves on arms. One is in very good condition, but one has some wear on the back as shown in photo. In Poplar, E14, near Langdon Park DLR station. Rather heavy, so you will either need a car, or to sit down on the way if carrying them to the station!

Request: Double width oven rack (Poplar E14) Expired We are looking for an oven shelf/rack 63 cm long, for a double-width oven at church. We would regularly use a second shelf, to heat food for a night shelter. The supplier of the oven does not provide spares.

Request: Typewriter (Poplar E14) Received A retired friend, who is not going to learn to use a computer, would like a typewriter. She hasn't used one since the 1970s, so was thinking of a manual typewriter, but she is prepared to try an electric typewriter instead if that's what's available!

Free: Australia photo book (Poplar E14) Gifted Eye on Australia by Michael Ruetz (Hardcover, 1989). This is a superb coffee-table book of large "vedute" photographs of Australia – wild and urban. The book still has the dust jacket, but this has three one-inch tears at the back.

Three were originally written in English; the one on Rommel is translated from German. * Rommel's War in Africa, by Wolf Heckman • Enemy at the Gates: The Battle for Stalingrad, by William Craig • Decision in Normandy, by Carlo D'Este • The Fall of Berlin, by Anthony Read and David Fisher Most are in pristine condition. One page of the Rommel volume has been creased as shown in the photo.

Free: Wall cabinet (Poplar E14) Gifted Glass-fronted cabinet. 70cm long, 40cm high, 36 cm deep. Door opens upward, held open by pistons. Photos show cabinet standing on its side. Quite heavy. Collect near Langdon Park DLR.
