Free: Wellington Boots (Denham UB9) Full-length rubber Wellington Boots. Green. These have been my faithful country companions for many years, but in more recent years have resided in the boot of my car and are now little-used. However, still in tip-top condition, with fabulous robust soles with a great grip. Perfect for that afternoon in the garden or not-too-long cross-country walk. Size 8. Free: Linea wool scarf (Denham UB9) Gifted Pure wool scarf from the House of Fraser “Linea” brand. Designed in shades of green stripes and finished with a red band along either side, it is finished with a 4cm fringe. Measures 144cm x 30cm. In excellent condition, this soft, long, and attractive scarf guarantees you warm days – and nights – for years to come.

Free: Bernat Klein wool scarf (Denham UB9) Gifted Pure wool scarf, designed by the eminent textile designer Bernat Klein. Designed in a demure light brown check pattern, this attractive scarf is finished with a discreet 1 1⁄2 cm fringe. Measuring 120cm x 44cm This beautifully soft scarf kept my neck cosy for many of my younger years. Recently rediscovered in the bottom of a drawer, I realise my neck now turns to other things to stay warm. Still in good shape, it will keep your neck warm – and looking good – for some years yet.

Free: Large Sink Plunger. New (Denham UB9) Gifted Large plunger, made by the people at Kingfisher. Bought to clear my kitchen sink. Unfortunately it is too large for the job and I will need to find something smaller. Measures 14cm across by 49cm tall. New and unused. Yours if you want it.

Free: Heavy Duty Rubber-coated Work Gloves. Little used. (Denham UB9) Gifted Heavy duty rubber-coated work gloves. Issued to me many years ago when I joined a voluntary scheme. However they were little used and have remained – unused – in my cupboard in the years since. They are unlikely to see service in this household again now but it is a shame to let a good pair of work gloves go to waste. They’re yours if you want them.

Free: Helly Hanson Walking Jacket (Denham UB9) Gifted Helly Hanson Walking Jacket Made by the trusty firm of Helly Hanson, this light and comfortable jacket has kept me warm and safe through many adventures, from the Lake District to the snows of Switzerland. Now, sadly showing its age - the proofing around the hood in particular is starting to go. However, still in good order, this well-made jacket – in Helly Hanson’s “Helly-Tech 5” breathable waterproof material with a mesh lining - has been well looked after and should keep you dry for a light shower or short walk. But not a day’s yomp through the fells. In eye-catching red, complete with an integrated hood, under-arm zips for added comfort, zipped inner security pocket, and waterproofed external pockets. Attractively finished with embroidered Helly Hanson motifs on chest and sleeve. Packs up surprisingly small into your daysack for that day out. Comes with its own drawstring travel pouch. Free: Karrimor Waterproof Map Case (Denham UB9) Gifted Karrimor Waterproof Map Case Made by the trusty people at Karrimor, this waterproof map case should keep your maps and notes perfectly dry through the worst of storms. With adjustable neck strap, this robust and high-class map case comes with a double-folded Velcro seam and is transparent both sides, so you don’t need to take your map out in the rain to see the other side. New and unused – complete with original packaging. Found in a recent clear-out of walking stuff, I realised I had two map cases already and can’t see my needing a third. So it’s yours if you want it. Free: Pair of cotton drapes (Denham UB9) Gifted Pair of cotton drapes. Colour: Beige with attractive discreet check pattern. Measuring: 103cm wide, 210cm in length. Complete with material loops along the top, each attractively finished with a leather-effect button, to allow the drapes to fit directly onto the curtain pole Served well in my last home where they were occasionally used as an internal door, but not needed where I am now. Your guess is as good as mine Material: polyester but finished with very soft, “Draylon”-feel, knap. Measuring: 40cm x 40cm New and unused. Recently surfaced in a house move and not needed. These comfortable covers would work on any sofa or armchair.

Free: Windscreen scraper (Denham UB9) Expired Car windscreen scraper. If there is such a thing as a luxury version of a windscreen scraper this is it - complete with a scraper for snow and ice, a rubber strip for water, and sponge for condensation inside the car. Resurfaced after the recent clear-out of a family home. Hardly used. As new. It is not needed and is yours if you want it.

Free: Bicycle Bell (Denham UB9) Expired Bicycle bell A traditional bicycle bell. My current bike came with a bell so this is no longer needed. From what I remember, it was wasn’t on my previous bike for long and has been lying forgotten in my bike box of tricks for some years. Still in tip-top form, it’s yours if you want it.

Free: Chrome shelving unit (Denham UB9) Gifted Chrome shelving unit. Measuring 115cm (h) x 37cm (w) x 34cm (d), this neat metal storage unit is finished in smart chrome. With four shelves, this useful unit has served me well for many years for my towels and all my other bathroom bits and bobs. But having now moved, this good friend is sadly no longer needed where I am now. However, still in great shape, it will serve you well for many years as well. Probably best not used outside. I suspect the chrome finish might not do well in the rain.

Free: Cycle cover (Denham UB9) Gifted Cycle cover Bought to cover my bike when it was parked outside here at home. It did a great job, but I can now park my bike under cover so is no longer needed. With an elasticated bottom, this cover fits snugly over your bike. Complete with clip fastening to secure in place under the rear wheel, and large eyelet holes at the front to take a substantial lock. Folds away neatly into its own bag, so you can take it with you on your travels and discreetly cover-up your bike where you’re going too. It’s yours if you want it.

Free: Postage stamps and first-day covers (Denham UB9) Gifted A small collection of philatelic items have surfaced as a result of a number of recent family house moves. Just the thing for a budding collector – or even an established one. Lego Jaguar E-Type 10. Hornby goods wagon – “Cadbury’s” Apart from the Aston Martin, which is knocked about a bit, and the Lego fire tender, which is missing its ladder, they are in excellent condition. I looked after my toys well. They are no longer needed and yours if you want them.

Free: Exercise Mat (Denham UB9) Gifted Sainsbury’s exercise mat. Foam-filled; covered in waterproof silver coloured plastic. Can be rolled up. Measures 118cm x 62cm Complete with original packaging Bought some years ago for some post-op exercises for my knee. Happily my knee is back to full working order. But the mat, job done, has lain ignored and forgotten at the back of the wardrobe ever since. Still in perfect condition. There are many bounces, jumps and downward dogs left in this. Perfect for that Monday night yoga session, or just some TV exercises at home.

Free: Dustpan and brush (Denham UB9) Gifted Addis dustpan and brush. Grey plastic. Excellent condition. But no longer needed as I have moved to a property with a hardwood floor and I now only need its sister set with softer bristles. It’s yours if you want it.

Free: sony mini cassette recorder and cassettes (Denham UB9) Gifted Sony TCM-12 mini cassette recorder. Was a long-term friend when I had a fascination for recording random events in years gone-by. This neat, hand-held, recorder was a companion on many solo adventures and holidays with family and friends, adding a welcome additional layer of texture to the photo album. However, I realise it has been at the back of my drawer – unused – for some years now, and is likely to remain so. My fascination has moved on. Well looked-after. Immaculate condition. Complete with original packing and instructions. Also comes with five – new and unopened – cassette tapes. Takes 2 x AA batteries. If retro tech is your thing, or you are a sound boffin, it’s yours.

Free: Sony stereo radio cassette player (Denham UB9) Gifted Sony CFS-212L stereo radio cassette player/recorder. With SW/MW/LW/FM channels, graphic equaliser and auto cut-off, this neat, light and discreet (only measures 46cm long x 14cm high) radio cassette has a remarkably deep and resonant tone – for both music and speech. Complete with power lead and 13 amp plug. Can also operate on six “D”-size batteries. Bought as a Christmas gift by my third girlfriend Sue, this cherished product of the 80s has entertained and educated me, family and friends on many evenings – home and away - since. Now a house move, and an audio upgrade to 21st century, has rendered this much-loved friend surplus to requirements. Still in excellent condition and perfect working order, there are many midnight news', shipping forecasts and – if you still have cassettes – tunes to be enjoyed on this. Must go to a good home.

Free: Cordura Belt Pouch (Denham UB9) Gifted Cordura belt pouch, made by outdoor company Faces. This tidy pouch, made in durable green cordura material, is fastenened by a sturdy zip and comes complete with two belt loops to attach to belt. Measures 18cm x 13cm. For many years it was the home to my camera, now long-gone, and not used since. Still in very good condition, it could serve to hold your wallet, phone, tissues, keys, or any number of knick-knacks on your adventures in bush or city.
