Embroidered fire-screen (Higham Hill E17)
Free-standing screen, about waist-high, with beautiful embroidery made by one of my school teachers in the 50s to celebrate the Queen's coronation and featuring "The Queen's beasts" which originated in Tudor heraldry. I have lived with it all my life but am decluttering hard. The feet supporting it need re-gluing or screwing to make more secure.

Magnifier for sewing (Higham Hill E17)

You sit with your sewing, mending, needlework and, by looking at it through the glass it is well magnified. So useful if your close sight is deteriorating. It can straighten up to store behind a curtain or somewhere. It needs batteries for the light and I am not sure if that still works, but it's not essential.
