Request:
Old tables, bookcases etc (Edgiock B96)
Expired
Hi. I'm looking for any old unwanted brown furniture, in any condition - broken, damaged, stained etc. I dismantle it, strip it down to the bare wood and then make new, medieval-style furniture, chests and boxes for Living History and reenactment groups. I am looking for any old solid wood (ideally oak, but any wood is good) tables, bookcases etc (see example pictures). My third picture shows some things I've made or for more detail see my website . I am based in Cookhill/Astwood Bank and can collect in the Redditch/Droitwich/Evesham/Alcester sort of area.

Free:
Old spanners and tools (Edgiock B96)
Promised
A random box of loads of old spanners, and other tools , plus oddments. Spanners are all old-styke, e.g. AF and BSW, not metric. Useful if you are working on an old car or motorbike possibly. No sorting, take the lot. Wide driveway for easy pickup. Any time by arrangement.

Free:
Trailer chassis for rebuild project (Edgiock B96)
Gifted
Very old 2-wheel trailer. The top box-like part is more or less rusted away, but the galvanised chassis underneath is solid and would make a good basis for a bike trailer perhaps, or you could build a new box on the chassis to use as a general purpose trailer. The top looks to come away from the bottom with only a few small nuts and bolts. Too much potential to send to the scrappy, so I hope someone can make use of it for your trailer-building project. I do not believe this trailer is road-legal: the towing hitch is sound and the tyres are inflated, but there are no working lights, and jagged rusty edges here and there. You will need to consider how you can take it away. Easy pickup from wide driveway. Any time by arrangement.

Free:
Computer Monitor (Edgiock B96)
Gifted
HP Compaq LA1951g Monitor screen. 19inch diagonally. This is an older-style screen with max resolution 1280 x 1024. It has a number of connectors on the back, but the only one I have had any success with is the 15 pin VGA port (yellow circled in the photo). **update** apparently, the larger port in the middle is a DVI socket, which many tower and desktop PCs use for their video output. The small square socket next to the 2 x USB sockets is a USB socket like the one on some printers. it is so you can use the screen as an extension USB and plug (e.g. ) USB sticks into the screen instead of the computer. ** thanks to two users who have provided more info** As you can see from the last picture, I can run the screen OK from my laptop using a cable from the laptop's mDP port to the screen's VGA port. Mains cable supplied, but you will need to provide your own VGA cable, to connect to whatever computer you are using it with. Collect any time by arrangement. Big drive, easy pull in.

Car Racing set (Edgiock B96)
Gifted
Not Scalextric, but that kind of thing, only a little smaller. Probably fit on a tabletop. Lots of track, 2 controllers and 4 cars. I have not put it together and run it, though the Grandkids did run it a couple of years ago. I tested the electrics with a multimeter: the transformer puts out 5v current as it should, and when you connect it up, squeezing a trigger sends a current to the track as it should do (see the meter in the picture). Easy pickup via wide drive to pull in. Any time by arrangement. Fair offer policy will be applied - please tell me why you want it.

Free:
240v Electric motor (Edgiock B96)
Gifted
Good working order, a 240v electric motor removed from a defunct saw bench. Motor body approx 8cm diameter. Cable has been cut so needs a new mains cable. Could be used to power a lathe, saw, or some other project. If required I can also give you a start/stop switch unit, with wires attached. Seems a shame to take it to the recycling centre. Collection any time by arrangement - wide drive, easy pickup.

Free:
Black & Decker Chop Saw (Edgiock B96)
Gifted
Bench top 240v circular chop saw by Black and Decker. You will have to buy and fit a new blade, but otherwise this is in good working order. The table rotates to permit accurate mitre cuts. It has a dust extraction port, and will run from a normal 13a mains socket. The pictures show the saw as you will get it, with no blade fitted. The size of blade you will need is 305mm diameter, with a 30mm hole. This is a standard size you can get anywhere online, or Screwfix, or similar. I will explain to you how to fit it. Note the central bolt that holds the blade on is a left-hand thread, as indicated. I have put one picture of it with a saw blade fitted, to show you how it will be, and to give you an idea of what the blade looks like. It is designed to fit on a table, Workmate or workbench (white table in the picture is NOT included). NOT for selling on. Please explain why you want it. Easy pick up from wide pull-in drive. Should fit into any car boot.

Spinning Wheel (Edgiock B96)
Gifted
Our lovely old Dutch spinning wheel. We bought it new when we were living in Holland in 1987 and used it for years, producing our own handspun knitting wool from raw sheep's fleece. Spinning is a very therapeutic and enjoyable pastime. We haven't used it now for some years and decided it is time to pass it on for someone else to enjoy. Complete and in working order. We may have some other spinning bits to add to it. Easy pickup, wide drive to pull in and turn.

Free:
Flat melamine Table Top (Edgiock B96)
Gifted
This is a very serviceable table top (no legs, needs 2 trestles or similar). 1500 x 800 x 30mm thick. White(ish) and very sound. It's a good flat piece of board, very sturdy. Would make an excellent surface for art or craft work, dressmaking etc. Or an extra work surface in a workshop. I think it may have come originally from Ikea. Probably best to check it will fit into your vehicle before you collect. Easy pick up - wide drive to pull in and turn.

Free:
Old Singer Treadle Sewing Machine (Edgiock B96)
Gifted
A lovely vintage Singer Sewing Machine. This is the old "built-into-a-table" type, with a manual treadle to drive it. The whole machine folds down neatly into the table, leaving a flat tabletop. As far as we know this still works, when last used. We salvaged it from Mother-in-Law's house clearance some years ago and kept it for sentimental reasons. Now we've decided its time to pass it on. It's a lovely old thing - do remember it is a manual (foot treadle) machine - the only electric thing on it is a small light above the sewing deck. Its a bit cumbersome to carry but not too heavy, and it should fit easily into a smallish hatchback. It probably belongs in a museum, or as a display piece in a dressmakers, but you could even use it as a sewing machine. They are often turned (gasp) into coffee tables. Easy pick up - wide drive to pull in and turn. Fair offer policy applies (names in a hat if more than one reply)
