it’s brass, has the end that plugs into the wall but it’s just (for lack of a better word…) a shaft? i imagine, if you’re crafty, you could easily turn it into a lamp. Brand new, we just wanted it taller so the retailer gave us a new (sorry) shaft. Lmk if you have questions. It’s 39 inches tall!
