Cool bags (Abbeyhill EH7)
I am looking for some cool bags. I volunteer to distribute food to the community, and the bags would be very useful for keeping chilled items fresh while being transported or stored for short periods of time. If you have any cool bags you don't need, please get in touch. Preferably fully intact (no holes), and clean (no mould or dirt inside).

2 x Acer Chromebooks - Spares or Repair (Abbeyhill EH7)
Gifted
These Acer Chromebooks are great little computers, but eventually developed loose connections in the USB-C port which supplies power from the charger. They are R-11 Spin Chromebooks, so the screen is on very sturdy hinges that fold back all the way and turn the laptop into a tablet. The touchscreens are quite unusual in that they have Wacom matrix built in, so can be used with any Wacom stylus for drawing or interacting with content. Chromebooks can run Android apps, and you can install Linux on them too. Being unable to charge the battery, effectively these are dead. However if you are good at computer repair, you might be able to re-solder the USB-C connector to the motherboard. Or you could just harvest parts. The keyboards, trackpads, and those special screens were all working perfectly last time these were used. No charger or stylus, Chromebooks only. If interested, please suggest a day and time you can collect.

19" LCD Monitor with built in speakers (Abbeyhill EH7)
Gifted
19" LCD, VGA and DVI connections, audio in via mini-jack. Has a VESA mount on the back, currently attached to a very sturdy stand. Working, used until today, this monitor is now surplus to requirements. Will require a 3-pin power cable (kettle lead) to use, plus appropriate cable(s). I'll throw in an old DVI cable but this latter is untested. If getting in touch, please suggest a date and time to collect.

Speakers for art project (Abbeyhill EH7)
Received
By speakers I mean audio speakers, for example from a hi-fi, car stereo, computer speakers, however large or small, high fidelity or tinny crappy sound. Just speakers, powered or unpowered. Wired or wireless. As long as they WORK and I can operate them without some boondoggle that was mislaid. This is the only requirement. Exceptions would include anything that needs high voltage to operate, for example guitar amplifiers, etc. Let me know if you have something you think might suit, and we can discuss.

Request:
Garden fork (Abbeyhill EH7)
Received
Unfortunately my garden fork snapped in two while digging, and is now unusable. If anyone has a spare fork they don't need, this would be very helpful for digging my allotment. Can collect within Edinburgh, preferably within 2-3 miles of the city centre.

Black & Decker Industrial Drill (Abbeyhill EH7)
Gifted
This is a "vintage" drill that I bought second hand nearly 40 years ago. Still working, a bit noisy (sounds like a jet engine on takeoff) and very heavy. Solid, reliable and looks like a 1950s space ship. I have drilled holes in plenty of brick walls using this beast. Unfortunately I mislaid the chuck key, so haven't used it in a while. May suit a vintage tools enthusiast.

Request:
Empty wine bottles (Abbeyhill EH7)
Received
I make wine at home, and this year I've made rather a lot so have run out of bottles to put it in. If you have some empty wine bottles I can collect, please let me know. Prefer green or brown glass, for corks rather than screw top, though a handful of the latter could be useful too. I'm in Abbeyhill so ideally would collect locally, or within a kilometre or so: Easter Road, Hillside, Meadowbank, Leith Walk, Bellevue, Marionville, Willowbrae. If you live nearby and have some bottles you don't need, get in touch.
