Free: Vegetables & pinto beans (1075 Valencia Avenue) Gifted The produce includes leeks, celery, zucchini, butternut squash, turnips, red onions, carrots, potatoes, and pinto beans. Specifically: - One unopened two-pound bag of dried pinto beans. - Six large turnips and four small turnips. - One butternut squash. - Six stalks of leeks (onions). - Seven Russet potatoes. - Two Yukon Gold potatoes. - Four zucchini Calabacita squash (two intact, and two with part cut off). - Four red onions and three white onions. - Two bunches of celery. - Four large carrots and five small carrots. - One yam, not shown. I cleaned them and peeled off the top onion layers, and cut off yellowed tips from the leeks. Free: Tabletop magnifying mirror (1075 Valencia Avenue) Tabletop vanity mirror with adjustable angle. The mirror is for close-up (magnified) view. It swivels to adjust the angle of the mirror It is 13” high from base to top of mirror. Diameter of mirror is 7”. Length of base is 6-1/4”. Width of base is 3-1/2”. The mirror with the close-up focus is in excellent condition. The mirror on the opposite side, with regular focus (no magnification), broke. It could be replaced by removing the hex nuts at the side and cutting a regular view mirror from a larger piece of mirror, and glueing it on or fitting it inside the frame. Free: Portable child’s basketball hoop (1089 West Olive Avenue) Gifted Portable, fence-mounted child’s mini basketball hoop with net. The inside diameter of the hoop is 9-1/8”. (The diameter of a hoop for an adult basketball is 18”.) It has brackets that slip onto the top of a wall, and built-in screws to keep it in place. The backing is clear hard plastic with a soft foam frame on the back sides to keep it from being scratched by or from scratching the wall. The ends of two strips of foam at one corner needs glueing together, but otherwise appears in very good condition. There are some small cut wires at the backside of the support, as shown, but I am not sure what their function was—probably to keep score on the number of baskets made—and it is usable as a fence-mounted basketball hoop. Free: Back extension exercise machine (1089 West Olive Avenue) Gifted Small elliptical-stepper exercise machine. I don’t know how to call it. A neighbor left it out. It is a sturdy but small and lightweight exercise machine for home workouts. Currently outside the dumpster shed behind 1089 West Olive Avenue in Sunnyvale, at the corner of West Olive Avenue and Leota Avenue. It faces the parking gate on Leota, but I don’t have the fob to that gate to let you in, so you would need a pallet on casters to move it out, if you can’t carry it. Otherwise the gate is open Tuesday during the day for trash collection or Wednesday for recyclables collection. Free: Black metal floor lamp (Valencia Avenue, Sunnyvale) Gifted Black metal floor lamp. It is about six feet high. I can’t find the shade tonight but will look for it tomorrow. The pole unscrews in two places for easier storage and transport when not in use. The two sections screwed together are not firmly attached and slightly wobbly. It would be advisable to put clear tape at that point to keep the attachment firmly in place. There is a dent at the top end of the lamp, but it doesn’t prevent the shade from being attached. Free: Beach umbrella, adjustable length (Valencia Avenue, Sunnyvale) Gifted Beach umbrella with adjustable detachable pole extension and covered tip. When opened, the umbrella’s diameter is about five feet. The umbrella and the pole are in like-new condition. However, when I opened the umbrella all the way, I was unable to get it to close. Maybe you can troubleshoot. I cannot store it when fully opened, so I placed the umbrella on top of a refrigerator behind the dumpster shed closest to the parking gate at the right side of the end of Valencia Avenue, off South Mary Avenue in Sunnyvale, and behind the Crosswalk Church parking lot. Free: Vintage wooden picture frame (Valencia Avenue, Sunnyvale) Gifted Vintage wooden picture frame with carved designs. Outside measurements: 18–/4” wide x 24-3/8” long x 3/4” thick. Measurements of inside where the artwork or mirror would fit in: 21-18” x 15-1/8”. The wood on the back at the inside has been cut to create an indentation to place the artwork (or mirror) and backing (such as foam board or cardboard) and hold them in place with brown paper glued onto the frame, to make it even with the back of the frame. The cut out part of the back is 7/16” deep. Some tiny scratches to the stain on the front, but they could be easily touched up with stain or dabs of brown paint.
