Summer weight cycle top and bib shorts, XXL (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
Well-used but still in good condition summer weight cycle gear. The top is XXL and was made round about 2014 by Sportful as a promotional item for the now-defunct Procycling magazine. The bib shorts are XXL and made by Castelli. I'm 6'7" and quite slim, so despite all the Xs in the sizing, these are for a tall person rather than a chunky one. I'm putting up about half a dozen cycling items on Freegle and will give people 24 hours to respond so that I can spread them out across as many interested parties as possible. Please wait for a response and please don't say "I'll take everything!" Just reply to register your interest in the one thing you'd like the most, thanks.

Omen trilogy on DVD (Oldfield Park)
Expired
It was cheaper to buy these on eBay than it was to rent them from a streaming service so we watched them, loved them and now have no need to keep them. The first one’s amazing still but the third one? Oh boy, what a stinker!

Cuisinart grill/ griddle (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
We got this as a gift from some friends who use theirs all the time but to be honest, we’ve only ever done ham and cheese toasties on it. It’s got a removable grease trap and non-stick hotplates so you can apparently roast veggies, do burgers and sausages and all sorts of other things on it. Good for your kid at college perhaps? It’s all in working order and comes with a recipe book and instruction manual.

Norwegian waffle maker (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
Every year we host a Norwegian student as they attend Hayesfield school and, occasionally, they leave their waffle maker behind. This one has an adaptor plug to make it work in the U.K. and has only been used a few times... we’re just not into waffles the same way Norwegians are! Are you a family that is?

Vango Eclipse Double sleeping bag (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
Summer-weight double-width sleeping bag that we used to take camping when the kids were little and wriggly. It had a zip down each side and it fully reversible, should you want the dots on the inside. It’s clean and been stored on a bedroom shelf, so doesn’t have that loft smell either.

Magimix Le Duo juicer (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
After being on our kitchen side in constant use for many years, this juicer’s just spent its second year in a cupboard, suggesting we’re never going to use it again. It’s had a lot of use but is a very robust unit - the white motor unit weighs a ton - so there’s plenty of life left in it. The most obviously worn part is the steel drum inside which shreds and separates the pulp - the teeth on this aren’t as sharp as they used to be. We used to use it daily to juice carrots, beetroot, apples and lettuce and the results were amazing. There’s also a brown top unit specifically to squeeze oranges.

Olympus 35mm film camera (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
This was the last film camera we bought before going digital, so dates to about 2003. It was working when I took the battery out and put it in a box so I’m assuming it still works. The slide cover at the front was repaired with epoxy glue at some point but this doesn’t impede its movement. The big question is whether anyone shoots on 35mm film any more.

As far as I can tell, I never even used these! They're XXL and so will feet over shoes between about 10 and 13, I'd imagine. There's a far velcro opener at the back, while the undersides are open to let the cleats clip into your pedals. I'm putting up several cycling items on Freegle and will give people 24 hours to respond so that I can spread them out across as many interested parties as possible. Two graphic novels (comic books)– violent, not for kids (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
I'm nervous about giving them to the charity shop in case they accidentally put them in the children's section because they're comics. Both of these are crime-driven stories with loads of graphic violence that are aimed at an adult audience. Think of movies like Taken, John Wick or Goodfellas rather than your traditional comic book Batman & Robin.

8mm cine film editing blocks from the 1960s and 1970s (Oldfield Park)
Expired
Two beautifully engineered cine film editing equipment made by Japanese manufacturer JPL in the 1960s and 1970s. Each one is pretty much the same, although the boxes reflect the design ethos of the two decades. Unless you're one of the three people left on the planet still actively using cine film, they're entirely useless but they do look so wonderful that if yoiu have a bunch of vintage camera gear on display on a shelf, they'd look great. They're also pretty much worthless – I've tried selling them on eBay many times – so please come and get them only if you want them as paperweights for your home office.

Vango 600 family tent (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
Absolutely huge family tent that we bought in 2004, has been used most years since and is now far too big for our needs. As you can see from the camoflage tent in the photo, our teenage kids prefer to sleep in their own space these days, so we've bought a smaller main tent that better suits our needs. This is a Vango 600 tent and there are a million online reviews of it if you want more details. It's basically a huge central dome with two side bedrooms and a long entrance tunnel. I'm 6'7" and can stand up easily in the dome, giving you some idea of how tall it is. We've slept in it just short of 250 nights over the years, so this has been well used. However, it's survived seven named storms without catastrophe, often when the surrounding AirBeam tents were completely flattened. Such a long life and stormy history has left it with a few minor bits of damage, none of which affect its usability of waterproofness: 1. A tear on the top, which is fixed with tape. 2. A worn tent pole tunnel, again fixed with tape. 3. The door zip opening from the main dome to the entrance tunnel starts to unfasten in strong winds. 4. One of the resin tent poles has split end to end and been taped back together. This fix has been fine the last two years, although the added friction does make it a bit harder to feed into the pole tunnel during assembly. 5. Finally, I stupidly left the entire bag of tent pegs at a campsite in Cornwall last summer, so the new owner will need to buy a good three or four dozen. I just looked on Amazon and they're cost you maybe £20. This has been a huge tent for our four-person family, has easily slept up to eight when the main dome is used and has been a joy to go on holidays in. Despite its age, it's clearly got at least five more years of use left in it and maybe even more. What could your family do with it and where might it take you?

1950s or 1960s dining table with extensions (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
Solid wood table from before everything was flat-packed, so if you're coming for this, make sure you have plenty of space in the boot of your car. We've been using this as an arts and crafts table, hence the glue and paint splodges on the original tabletop that has no major gouges or scratches. The main tabletop is 75cm wide and just short of 100cm long. Each of the two leafs, which slide away under the tabletop when not in use, are about 25cm long, so the full-length table is about 150cm.

Red plastic sled (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
Plastic sled bought years ago from Francis DIY on Moorland Road. My kids are grown up now, so we've no further use for it. As you can see from the photos, the back-right corner's broken off but otherwise it's good to go next time Bath gets snow. Whenever that might be.

Free:
Citroen Berlingo double bike rack (Oldfield Park)
Gifted
This is Citroen's own bike rack specifically for an early model Citroen Berlingo, fitted in the photos to our 2007 model. Since it's a custom rack, it's effortless to attach, with two hooks hanging off the top of the rear door and two rubber feet resting on the sides. It has two rails to fit two bikes, with straps that attach the wheels to the rails. However, since it's tailored for this one vehicle, I'm pretty sure it won't fit any other car. I think even the newer model Berlingo has a different, more sloping rear door so maybe it doesn't even work on that. If you're interested but have doubts and live near Oldfield Park, just swing past and see whether it fits to your car.

Halloween and magical-themed colouring books (Oldfield Park)

My Nightmare Before Christmas-loving teenage daughter pulled this stack of colouring books out just before Halloween and decided she was totally over being all dark and Gothy. She's coloured in a few of these pictures but mostly they're all ready and waiting for anyone with a full set of felt tips.

A carrier bag full of… clean, used once carrier bags (Oldfield Park)
Expired
I have a nutjob relative who is so into conspiracy theories and believing global warming is a mind-control experiment created by the woke media elite that he buys Bags for Life each and every time he goes shopping, just to prove a point. I'm guessing that once Greta Thunberg hears that he spends 30p per bag just to get at her, she'll be absolutely gutted and pack it in trying to save the polar bears. Not only that but he then passes them all onto me since he knows how much I hate waste. I'm assuming this re-use of conspiracy fuelled anger is ironic, given that this is the only time he recycles anything. Now obviously, I'm such a planet-hugging libtard that I only use tote bags and I've now run out of uses for so many used once Bags for Life. This bag has maybe 30 or 40 in it, each one carefully folded up and put away by me. That's a LOT of 30p plastic bags. So come on somebody, please come and taken them away before I end up with a whole bin liner full of them!
