Request: Grandma's tin of buttons. (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) I'm starting a collection of vintage buttons, having been given a tin and finding one 200yrs old! I'm now hooked. Would like to do two display boards with the history. If you have a tin or jar rattling round, of older buttons, pre 80s, please let me know.

Request: Jam jars. (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Expired Clean with well fitting lids required. If you have a surplus please let me know. I don't mind removing labels from jars. I've had such a bountiful fruit year and freezer full to bursting. Appleby area ideal for picking up but will travel for bumper load.

Request: Guttering for a 8X6' shed. (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Received Looking for some guttering and down pipe for a shed please if anyone has any lying around unused. At the moment we collect water in a series of buckets and would be nice to get a proper system going. I'm on a mission this year not to buy new but to recycle, reuse, mend and make do so, if you can help, please let me know.

Free: Compost bin (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Expired Used but still good. Never had a lid but we used the wooden one in photos which will last anothet yr or two. Collection only. I have 4 and no room for this which was on my small allotment garden.

Free: Black and decker hedge trimmer. (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Expired Bought from village auction but not used. Passed the working and electrical test end of may 2024.. Blades may need a clean or new blade. Collection only.

Free: Thick fire retardant lining fabric (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Gifted Bought this about 10 yrs ago. Just found it and it has started to turn brown? There is practically a whole roll, 135cm wide. It's now no use for curtain lining but perhaps someone can think of a use. Brushed cotton on one side, plain on the other. I don't know how many metres but i think (could be wrong) it was originally 30.

Request: Cot, or travel cot, must be good condition (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Expired For the odd family member who visits with baby. I'd appreciate one in simplest form that can be dismantled and put back up quickly and that it is ultra clean for obvious reasons.

Request: Workshop vice, polishing wheel, hand held planer etc, etc. (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Expired Have really got into woodwork and the more i attempt the more i realise i need quite specific tools. If anyone has any redundant but servicable workshop tools, please let me know. As a newly retired woman most items are beyond my state pension to buy new. Cannot take anything huge as space limited. Wish list includes router, metal polisher and benchtop tiltable jigsaw but will consider anything. A vice is top of list. I restore, repurpose and recycle but would like to branch out more into redesigning.

Request: Travel cot with mattress. (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Expired Urgently require travel cot but especially one with a mattress. Have daughter visiting who borrowed a travel cot but unpacking it realised it has no mattress. Would like to keep it here for future visits as travel cots take up so much room in a car. Thank you in advance. X

Free: 2 x cupboards, book shelves. (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Gifted Both have 2 shelves. One has a door too. Got from freegle 2 or 3 yrs ago so placing back on. They must go before friday so first person to reply who can collect first will get them. 95cm high 40.5 cm deep 48cm wide. Heavy! No idea what make but seem good quality, at a guess I'd say habitat but could be wrong. Used as bookshelves here. Beech laminate and door is a teal colour. Can collect any time within reason and prearranged.

Free: Sofa. (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Expired Rather nice sofa needing a new home. Photo 1 correct biscuit colour. Would have had fire cert but whether still attached i don't know as we had to mend the fabric underneath and insert extra padding between the springs which i cannot guarantee fireproof. I fostered 8 kittens three or 4 yrs ago and they broke through and pulled the padding out. All found homes but left a legacy. Being honest and you wouldn't know from the top or sides. It has a little bit of staining on seating part but nothing too bad... probably come out with a scrub. Legs come off for manouvering around and through doors. With legs on max 85 cm high. Legs 19cm. Width 87 cm Length 2m 15cm Needs to go asap. Only minor help can be given so please bear this in mind.

Free: Under bed storage? Baby changing? (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Expired Was originally a baby changing unit that fitted over top of cupboard, recently used as underbed storage. 80cm x 50cm. Fits over cupboard 66cm wide. Has been painted white in baby safe paint. Could have a multitude of uses. Laminated chipboard so not suitable for outside use, quite heavy and well made.

Free: Legless foot stool really good condition . (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Gifted Tan beige colour, Awful first photo, 2nd correct colour.... there is no weird pattern it is plain. Used briefly but grandson jumped from it once at the end and it tipped, so took the legs off, to shove it under sofa, now can't find the legs. I think the fabric is linen. If anyone can find a use for it let me know.

Free: Wine/spirit bottles for home brew etc. All cleaned (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Expired 11 normal wine bottle size or spirit 1ltr. 15 small, mostly fintiman's with screw lids used for flavoured spirits. I had a mad yr brewing, foraging and winemaking yr before last but as i don't drink and family won't touch home made wine I'm sticking to my champagne which they do like! These bottles are spare. One massive undertaking getting labels off (nasa should use the glue for space programme) and cleaned. Prefer the lot to go as one. I also have spare demijohns, glass, but cannot give them away so will have to be sold so unfortunately the bottles are the only things free.

Request: Kale and purple sprouting broc (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Received For some inexplicable reason none of my seedlings have germinated this year. Does anyone have any spare lurking in a seed bed? Particularly after sprouting broc, the kale i can do without if needs be. Trying to cut down on travelling time. I've offered spare plants in the past so hoping someone has some somewhere. Thanks

Free: Large clump of rhubarb. (Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16) Gifted This was given to me last year but i now have too much! Apparently the clump it came from is over 50 yrs old having moved with the owner.
