Free: R&B fabric swatches (Cleveland Park) Fabric samples from Room & Board. Neutrals, mostly muted tweeds or geometrics in synthetic fabrics. Each is labeled and is 4" x 4". Can you use them to help you decide on decor? Or maybe for crafts? If I had a sewing machine, I would stitch these up into little catnip pillows. (But I don't.) Free: Grey faux-leather storage ottomans (Cleveland Park) Gifted Two faux-leather storage ottomans (ottomen?) in grey. 18” h x 18” w x 18” d. Photos also at . Lid flips to become a tray/flat surface, as shown. Excellent condition, clean inside and out. No cuts or tears, but there are tiny punctures from my cat’s claws and minor wear at corners. Here’s the catch (isn’t there always a catch?). The original cheap plastic feet split a few years ago, and I attempted to replace them with bronze casters. But they don’t screw in straight. See photo of bottom. They “sploot.” You could probably fix that by drilling a bigger hole (I don’t have a drill). Or buying different legs or casters on Amazon. Or just omitting them entirely—the ottoman would sit fine on its base (though at the cost of wear and tear). These are comparable to , priced at $135 each, but I don’t need the storage and would rather reclaim the floor space. In-person pickup (I live in an apartment building, so can’t leave them on a porch). Location is between Woodley and Cleveland Park metros but these would be hard to take on Metro without strong arms and a muscular friend. Easy short-term parking in building’s front driveway. (Note, however, that the color is brown, not “nude” as in the Amazon photo.) It’s surplus…I needed just one spool but had to buy two. Free: Wood jewelry box (Cleveland Park) Gifted Jewelry box. Circa mid-1990s. Unknown wood, possibly burl with yellow maple or golden cherry around edge? Classic design. Suitable for men or women. Outer dimensions 12” x 7” x 3”. Green velvet lining. (Slightly worn through in one small patch but not visible.) Removable upper tray with multiple compartments including ring storage. Single large lower compartment. Mirrored lid (useless in my opinion, but whatever.) Good condition. Does not lock. Brand is “Mele, made in Taiwan.” This seems to be a mid-market manufacturer, still in business, Canada-based but now manufacturing in China. In-person pickup near Zoo. I live in an apartment building so porch pickup is NOT an option. Near Cleveland Park and Woodley Park metros, or pull into my building’s driveway for quick swap (no worries about parking). Free: Black percale standard pillow shams (Cleveland Park) Gifted Set of two black, standard (not king or “European”) percale bed-pillow shams from CB2. “Organic cotton,” if that matters to you. Product page is at , and so is photo. I got these a few months ago for a dramatic, tailored look and they’re fine. But it turns out I prefer crisp white pillowcases and shams. That’s psychological, not aesthetic. From a nonsmoking home (with a cat, but these are clean and pressed). Free to a good home, maybe yours?
