Free:
tiny trees (Builth Wells)
My garden's full of tiny self set trees. Unusually, most are hornbeams (which mature will be 60ft high); there's some holly, oak, bird cherry (and quite a few western red cedar). Most are a couple of inches high. I can't leave them where they've come up, but it's such a shame to tear out a small forest. Please, come and rootle them out. I can't kneel down, so you'll have to do that.

Request:
old metal tent frame (Builth Wells)
Received
Does anyone have an old, unwanted rectangular metal frame tent that's gathering dust in a shed or garage? I need the frame only - it's to create a portable pen for hens. The frame simply needs to be all there. Long shot, but hoping....

Request:
small chessmen (Builth Wells)
Does anyone have an unwanted, complete set of small chessmen? I gave my grand-daughter a chess set, and to my dismay, 3 of the set were missing. Mortified! Ideally, not too far from Builth...

Free:
BIG pallet (Builth Wells)
Gifted
This is 47" x 78.5" [ 119.5 x 199.5cm]. It's close-slatted on one side - it had panels delivered on it. (I'm having trouble uploading photos from my phone, but could send it via WhatApp ) It's on tarmac, leaning up against the side of the house. You'd need a van or a decent sized trailer to collect it. I'm around most of the time.

Request:
old rigid polycarbonate sheets (Builth Wells)
Rather a long shot, but it's worth asking... If you are upgrading a garden structure, shed, garage or greenhouse which uses 'clear' polycarbonate sheets and you don't WANT the old ones, I'd be very grateful indeed for them. The minimum usable length is 44" - that's 110cm: any width, really. Fingers crossed! Thank you!

Free:
internal door (Builth Wells)
my son brought it back from a job - used and unwanted , but newish, internal door. No lock, but has knob and hinges still attached. It's 68 x 198cm ( 26 3/4" x 78"). It's stored outside, so the sooner it's collected, the better! Unmarked, save for robin droppings... Collect from Builth.

Request:
old-fashioned board games (Builth Wells)
In particular, a stiff board Snakes & Ladders! (The one I have is too flexible and the little 'counters' fall off.) I'm trying to keep my sweet little grandson (5) away from screens. Any board games from the 1950s are likely to be suitable.

Free:
storage crate (Builth Wells)
Gifted
This is made of thin ply, mounted on a small pallet. It's complete; the end is separate, as is the lid. The original polystyrene foam is in it. If you need something to transport / keep a possession in, this may be just the thing - a shame to break up such a useful object. Measures 32cm deep from top to bottom; 49cm wide and 97cm long. Collect from Builth.

Free:
pear tree (Builth Wells)
Gifted
Pear tree needing a new home. I'm re-organising the bottom of my garden, and it's where I want something else to go. Free - but YOU have to dig it up and take it away! It's a "family" tree, created by Paul Davis in Capel Isaac. I THINK the varieties are Beth, Winter Nelis and Louise Bonne De Jersey. I need it gone as soon as possible - any time in the next 7 days and (ideally) this weekend. It was planted in 2006. It's about 6ft tall; possibly a little wider. The trunk is about 4 - 4.5" wide at the base.

Request:
waterproof hiking boots (Builth Wells)
Expired
My lovely lodger is going up to Scotland on holiday. He's off on Sunday, and intends to climb Ben Nevis. His budget is £400 for the whole holiday. I'm trying to help him - and make sure he doesn't succumb to hypothermia... He can't afford waterproof hiking boots. Does anyone have a pair that he can borrow till 15th? He's a size 9, so I assume that he'd need a size 10 boot. Similarly, he doesn't own proper hiking trousers [I've forbidden him to wear denim on that climb]. He's a 34" waist, 32" inside leg. Does anyone have some he could borrow? If yes, to either, please contact me URGENTLY!!

Free:

I've treated myself to a very posh new quilt and have therefore got a couple of double quilts to give away. One is thin, the other medium. Smoke and pet free home. [Clean but used! They are washable; the big washing / drying machines behind Links in Builth can take big quilts, by the way!]. Collect from Builth Wells.

90cm wide, 200cm long. Wire is intact all round. Side door has bolt and opens / closes okay. The open end is [obviously!] in need of someone's carpentry skills, but it's fixable. Request:
wood offcuts (Builth Wells)
Received
Does anyone [IDEALLY WITHIN 15 MILES OF BUILTH] have any unwanted offcuts of machined wood? I’m trying to repair / reinforce the lids of two 1940s/50s ottomans. One is already in use on my landing: the hardboard of the lid didn’t survive my grandson enthusiastically bouncing on it. I can’t strip it down, because the material matches other storage, and can’t be re-used: it has to be repaired from the inside. The other WILL be a seat as well as a toy chest, and there’s an historical crack in the lid. The landing one needs battens along the sides no more than 3⁄4” / 2cm x 1” / 2.5cm, and any pieces of batten / plank to go across the lid no more than 2cm deep, and a minimum of 12 5/8” / 32cm long. The toy chest one needs battens 1 1⁄2” / 3.3cm x 1 3⁄4” / 4.3cm, and bits of plank / battens 17 1⁄2”/ 44cm long and no more than 1 1⁄2” / 3.3cm deep. I’m trying to do this on a shoestring – and using a borrowed and rather blunt old tenon saw! ANY pieces of wood that you have which might fit the bill would be very much appreciated.
