A large quantity of original newspapers relating to events of the 20th century. Including: the end of the USSR and of communism in Eastern Europe; the release of Nelson Mandela and South African elections; the first man on the Moon; the assassination of JFK; Richard Nixon's resignation; Ireland; the transfer of Hong Kong to China. These are original newspapers, bought at the time of the events, so naturally some are not in pristine condition.

Approx 2 feet tall, including shade. The base on its own is just over 1 foot tall. Base is wooden and heavy (i.e. sturdy), and carved with oriental figure, as shown. Believed to be genuinely old.
