Take-Away style hot food containers - Help the Hungry! (Twerton)
Hi folks - I am looking for a resource for a neighbour of mine - ex-Army, ex-Afghan war: left a few bits there due to one IED too many .. Got himself trained as a chef, as a 'thanks for your service, but you're finished' present - and has dedicated himself to providing food for people in difficulties, for whatever reason, ever since, two or three days a week: homeless, down on your luck, bad diagnosis . . . Hot food is on its way .. He provides the food, often as not, from his own pocket, cooks it, packages it, takes it to where it's needed: I'm trying to encourage him to formalise it a bit and get some sort of grant funding . . . but, y'know: some folks are just individualists. Anyway, getting to the point, the one thing that plagues him is that people *never* manage to get the used takeaway containers back to him (no use arguing that, perhaps for homeless folk, that might not be an achievable goal, much as they may promise to bring them back! So, I'm guessing that someone, somewhere in this generous town, has a plethora of Ch . . . takeaway boxes, that they have dutifully rinsed and saved - or even put through the dishwasher ... until they have (like I used to, until I met Mike) fifty or so, carefully stashed in the top cupboard, for the day when we have to start growing and preserving our own vegetables again .. or for keeping digestive biscuits the requisite three months in, until they have gone nice and soft .. Mike would very much appreciate a little supply of them, few or many - it would make his day / year to have a decent stock of them. I can come and pick them up: I'm in Newbridge, but can bus / drive a few miles to collect. It would be great if they have matching lids .. but if you just want shot of your entire library of mismatched containers and lids, I'm sure we can marry them up, over time: there can't be more than a thousand different sizes ...can there? Thanks for reading, Mark
