Free: toddler clambering frame (Hillfields BS16) Gifted I think this is called a Pikler triangle. It's for toddlers/crawlers/clamberers to enjoy! This one has 3 modes: * rungs both sides * rungs + slide/ramp * rungs + climbing holds Everything is still structurally sound; I sat on it with a full adult weight and bounced up and down and it felt fine. At one point we accidentally left it outside (albeit under a shelter) for a while, so one side (the slide) got a bit dirty. But we have now sanded it which has helped (though not got rid of the marks entirely). NOTE the 3rd photo which shows the triangle fully set up is an OLD photo from before we sanded it, in which the stains look worse than they are. See other photos for current condition. (If this bothers you aethestically, you could sand it more, or paint over it). It can be collapsed down for storage. A 4mm allen key is required to collapse/uncollapse it. Any questions, just ask.

Free: desk with drawers and shelves (Hillfields BS16) A medium sized desk with 3 drawers on the left and shelves on the right. It measures about: 120cm W x 49cm D x 72cm H The top surface has extensive paint stains, and there are some minor spots of damage (eg small section of surface flaked off at top left of front). But it should still be entirely usable; I suppose it could be repainted if you want.

Free: kettle (Hillfields BS16) An electric kettle. We've given it a quick test and it works. However, it is missing any kind of built-in gauze/sieve to block limescale particles. A simple workaround could be to pour the boiled water through a tea strainer into the mug. Or regularly descale it. It also has a fair bit of limescale inside. Happy to clean/flush most of that out if someone is interested in taking it.

Free: slow cooking hot plate (Hillfields BS16) Gifted Looks like a hot plate but the label says 'slow cooker'. When you plug it in and turn the switch on, the light comes on and the plate gets warm. I didn't wait to see how hot it gets because I didn't want to burn myself! So it works and could be used as an electric hot plate, but probably only for slow cooking/low heat purposes.

Free: smallish gas canisters (Hillfields BS16) Gifted 2 gas canisters, very similar (but not identical!). 1 is full, says 'Butane/Propane' and 'CV 470 PLUS 450g'. It is very slightly shorter than the other one, but they both seem to be the same rough diametre. The other feels about a third or a half full, says 'Type D4 - BS 0044 Net 460g' and 'butane propane mix'. There is no plastic cap because it has been opened at some point, and there seems to be a thread near the opening, which implies it screws into place. I imagine that anyone who has a device/stove that fit these would recognise the type straight away.

Free: medium size backpack (Hillfields BS16) Gifted A medium size backpack which includes a waist strap. I've had a quick look over it and couldn't see any broken zips or broken/missing clips. I did notice that the back of it does have a bit of hair (pet hair?) on it. Hope that's OK.

Free: solar powered battery charger (Hillfields BS16) This seems to be a device for charging batteries using a solar panel. The writing on it says it can charge AAA, AA, C or D size batteries, but that you have to charge 4 of the same size at once for it to work. I haven't tested it - mainly because I couldn't easily get together 4 rechargables of the same size at short notice! So can't guarantee it works. NB There doesn't seem to be any kind of indicator or screen to tell you when charging is finished. I guess you just put batteries in it for a while and then try them in your device.

Request: toaster (Hillfields BS16) Expired Hello folks, our toaster broke - does anyone have a spare (working) one they would like to get rid of? Thanks!
Free: various chipboard (Hillfields BS16) Expired As pictured - if you need measurements just ask. All from a loft so has some dust/dirt on it in places. The white stuff is about 16mm thick, from a dismantled wardrobe. Some of it has been stored outside, so has a bit of water damage along one edge (a strip could be cut off and the rest would be totally fine). Next to those are some boards that are about 21mm thick, in good condition as they have been stored indoors and only just moved outside today (and the weather is great). They are roughly 275mm x 1080mm. They have some notches cut into them. Then there are some dark brown boards in bad condition, doubt anyone wants those but included for completeness. Finally there are some other odds and ends roughly 16mm thick. Feel free to come and browse and pick and choose the bits you want and leave the ones you don't...

Request: small piece of plasterboard (Hillfields BS16) Received We need a small bit of plasterboard for patching up a ceiling. Anyone got any offcuts to spare? Would be really appreciated. Roughly 50cm x 30cm needed, might be able to manage with slightly less.
Free: paving blocks (Hillfields BS16) Gifted Paving blocks in good condition. They are blocks rather than bricks so suitable for paving/flooring but not ideal for construction. Note that we have approx 130 blocks to give away - ignore the number of blocks in the photo; it is from an earlier stage before we gave a load away. Measurements/more details available on request. When replying please say whether you want all of them or roughly how many you want.

Free: builders sand (Hillfields BS16) Gifted We have roughly 1.5 huge bags of builders sand (pictured). A small amount has already been taken and we will keep a little back for ourselves. So that means there is about 1 big bag worth up for grabs. We'd be open to people taking only part of it if they want - but please say when replying roughly how much you want. We have decanted some of it into smaller bags but not all of it, so it would help if you also brought some smaller bags or containers and were able to help with the decanting.

Free: Swing and slide (Hillfields BS16) Gifted We got both of these off of trash nothing last year from two different lovely but we now giving them away again as we have upgraded! The swing frame we couldn't take apart as the bolts were rusty and the slide we didn't try to take apart. Both fitted into our LWB van easily enough. The swing will need digging into place or new screws and plates to put into concrete to stop it tipping.

Request: microwave (Hillfields BS16) Expired If anyone has a working microwave they don't need, it would be really appreciated - ours isn't usable any more! Thanks :)
Free: various wood (Hillfields BS16) Expired Various pieces of wood up for grabs, small or medium thickness. Condition varies, it has all been stored outside, but under (basic) cover and raised off the floor. If you need more details/measurements, just ask. ** Please say in your reply roughly how much of the pile you want, and if there are particular bits/sizes you are more interested in. **

Request: toaster (Hillfields BS16) Expired Anyone have a spare toaster they don't want? (Ours has stopped working). Would need to be in working order. Ideally in BS15, BS16 or BS5. Thanks!
Free: bathroom sink incl tap + pillar (Hillfields BS16) Expired A bathroom sink which we originally got from this site, but then weren't able to use because the plumber bought a new one without asking us! So it is untested but as far as we know it all works. The condition of the sink is generally OK but there are 3 things to mention: 1) There is a medium size crack inside the bowl. This is a surface/aethestic crack, not a deep structural one. See picture. 2) The tap seems loose, so I think the washer and/or nut which hold it in place probably need replacing. 3) Overall it could do with a quick clean after being unused for so long. Unfortunately it will have to go to tip if not collected by Thu..

Free: Super king size mattress (Hillfields BS16) Expired One side (the side with the label in the photos) is stained, and has creaky springs. The other side looks fine and the springs feel fine on that side too. So both problems seem like they could be solved by flipping in on to the side that is in better condition. Unfortunately, if it isn't taken by Thu it will have to go to tip..
Free: Super king size mattress (Hillfields BS16) Expired Stained one side but looks fine on the other. My housemate already got a new one because there were 2 hollows (maybe where the springs were in bad condition?) but as far as I can tell the springs seem fine on the other side - so I think this is also easily solved by flipping it.

Free: 24 floor tiles (Hillfields BS16) Expired We have the following tiles up for grabs: 11 x white speckled tiles, 299mm x 299mm 7 x dark grey tiles, 299mm x 299mm 6.5 x light grey tiles, 296mm x 296mm Judging by the size and weight of them I reckon they are floor tiles rather than wall tiles, but I guess you could use them for walls if you were really confident of the strength of your adhesive! Please say in your reply when you can collect, and *include at least one option that isn't last-minute!*

Free: clock for spares or repair (Hillfields BS16) Gifted Large wall clock, doesn't work. We've tried fresh batteries, haven't tried anything else. Free: toilet (Hillfields BS16) Gifted A toilet which we originally got from this site, but then weren't able to use because the plumber bought a new one without asking us! So it is untested. When I was checking it over the flush button seemed to be missing a spring. I'm happy to fiddle with that more and see if I can fix it (and reattach the lid) if someone is interested in principle. The condition of the toilet is generally OK but some things to mention: 1) There is some limescale deep inside the u-bend. Could be removed with concentrated acid/descaling tablets. 2) Flush mechanism needs more checking/fixing, as mentioned above - though even the worst case scenario, a new flush mechanism would still be cheaper than an entire toilet! 3) Overall it could do with a clean after being unused for so long. Measurements or more details on request.
