handwound USB charger (Hillfields BS16)
You turn the handle and it charges whatever is plugged in to the USB port. I haven't tested it thoroughly, only checked that the red light comes on when the handle is turned. When replying, suggest pickup times that are 8 Dec or later, to allow for the Fair Chance policy.

very large tent with leaky porch (Hillfields BS16)
This is an Easy Camp Wichita 400, a large tent with a porch and a sleeping area. The sleeping area is 215cm x 240cm, with a divider that can be zipped into place to split it into two bedrooms 215cm x 120cm each if you prefer. Plus a sizable porch. NB I haven't tested this tent (got it from a friend and never got around to using it because it's much bigger than I need), but I lent it to another friend, who told me afterwards that the porch area leaked, but that the bedroom/sleeping compartment did not leak. Hopefully this is a problem that can be fixed by re-waterproofing the tent (I can't be bothered because this tent is way too big for me anyway)? Or ignored if it doesn't affect the bedroom area? As I said, I haven't tried it so don't know how big a problem it is, and can't make any guarantees. If you search online for Easy Camp Wichita 400 you can find reviews, youtube videos giving a good view of the tent, etc. Note that the photo I've attached here is a generic photo of this model of tent from the web - because the tent is quite large, putting it up to take photos is a significant effort, so at the moment it's just a load of bundles. However, I would be happy to put the tent up to test that all the parts are there (and take photos) once I know there is interest in it from someone contactable (ie who remembers to check their messages!). I want to confirm that before I go to the trouble of doing so. When responding, please suggest pickup times from 9 Dec onwards, to allow time for the Fair Chance policy to operate and for me to have time to test out putting the tent up.

curtains for use as dust sheets (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted
Was going to list this as curtains, but then noticed they have paint stains on them where they have been used as dust-sheets in the past. So they are only suitable for use as dust-sheets really. Does anyone want them for that? One is 140cm high x 134cm and has only a few tiny stains The other is 134cm high x 150cm and has many paint stains When listing options for pickup times, please give at least 2-3 days notice. If you don't understand why this is important, read the fair offer policy!

Free:
kettle (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted
An electric kettle. We've given it a quick test and it does work. However, it is missing any kind of built-in gauze/sieve to block limescale particles. A simple workaround could be to pour the boiled water through a tea strainer into the mug. Or regularly descale it. It also has a fair bit of limescale inside. Happy to clean that out if someone is interested in taking it.

bread machine with minor defects (Hillfields BS16)
Expired
This is a Morphy Richards FastBake bread machine. We've listed it as 'minor defects', because it has some flaws but is still usable. The short version is that it definitely isn't as good as a brand-new machine but also definitely better than no bread machine at all! The main problem is that the seal around the paddle is loose/missing, so dough is able to drip down into the mechanism. We have been able to continue using it like this for several years by putting the flour and other dry ingredients in first, to minimise leaking, and cleaning out the inside semi-regularly. We also avoid using it on timer mode. We also occasionally find that some dry flour remains in the corners of the loaf - but we can avoid this happening either by using a little extra water, or by using a spoon in the early stages of the bread cycle to help the machine stir into the corners. The final, much more minor issue is that one patch of the bread tin is scratched, which means it isn't properly non-stick anymore, so you have to bash the tin a bit to get the bread out. So overall, it's far from perfect but still usable if you are OK with these work-arounds. Can supply a copy of the manual with it. The basic bread cycle takes 3 hours and uses about 0.39kWh total. When listing options for pickup times, please give at least one option that isn't short notice.

Free:
mattress topper / bouldering mat (Hillfields BS16)
Expired
Two foam blocks, which could be used for making a basic DIY bouldering mat or other project, or the large one could be used as a mattress topper. Small block: approx 48cm x 124cm x 5cm, made of foam that bounces back quickly (not memory foam). Large block: approx 134cm x 192cm x 5cm, made of foam that bounces back slowly (memory foam). Some minor damage in places, but mostly sound and good. The smaller block is slightly grubby in places but the large one is clean. I've read that the best approach for bouldering mats is to combine both types of foam, in case that helps. When listing options for pickup times, please give at least one option that isn't short notice.

2 filter jugs (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted
Two Brita jugs for filtering water. Filters not included, but if you want, we can look up which type of filters we've used in the past, so you know which are compatible. We haven't used them for a year or two but they worked fine last time we did use them, so they should be all good. When listing options for pickup times, please give at least one option that isn't short notice.

(reposting: last chance before this goes to the dump..) A medium sized desk with 3 drawers on the left and shelves on the right. It measures about: 120cm W x 49cm D x 72cm H The top surface has extensive paint stains, and there are some minor spots of damage (eg small section of surface flaked off at top left of front). But it should still be entirely usable, and if you don't like how it looks ATM, you could repaint it.

toddler clambering frame (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted
I think this is called a Pikler triangle. It's for toddlers/crawlers/clamberers to enjoy! This one has 3 modes: * rungs both sides * rungs + slide/ramp * rungs + climbing holds Everything is still structurally sound; I sat on it with a full adult weight and bounced up and down and it felt fine. At one point we accidentally left it outside (albeit under a shelter) for a while, so one side (the slide) got a bit dirty. But we have now sanded it which has helped (though not got rid of the marks entirely). NOTE the 3rd photo which shows the triangle fully set up is an OLD photo from before we sanded it, in which the stains look worse than they are. See other photos for current condition. (If this bothers you aethestically, you could sand it more, or paint over it). It can be collapsed down for storage. A 4mm allen key is required to collapse/uncollapse it. Any questions, just ask.

slow cooking hot plate (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted
Looks like a hot plate but the label says 'slow cooker'. When you plug it in and turn the switch on, the light comes on and the plate gets warm. I didn't wait to see how hot it gets because I didn't want to burn myself! So it works and could be used as an electric hot plate, but probably only for slow cooking/low heat purposes.

Free:
smallish gas canisters (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted
2 gas canisters, very similar (but not identical!). 1 is full, says 'Butane/Propane' and 'CV 470 PLUS 450g'. It is very slightly shorter than the other one, but they both seem to be the same rough diametre. The other feels about a third or a half full, says 'Type D4 - BS 0044 Net 460g' and 'butane propane mix'. There is no plastic cap because it has been opened at some point, and there seems to be a thread near the opening, which implies it screws into place. I imagine that anyone who has a device/stove that fit these would recognise the type straight away.

medium size backpack (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted
A medium size backpack which includes a waist strap. I've had a quick look over it and couldn't see any broken zips or broken/missing clips. I did notice that the back of it does have a bit of hair (pet hair?) on it. Hope that's OK.

solar powered battery charger (Hillfields BS16)
Expired
This seems to be a device for charging batteries using a solar panel. The writing on it says it can charge AAA, AA, C or D size batteries, but that you have to charge 4 of the same size at once for it to work. I haven't tested it - mainly because I couldn't easily get together 4 rechargables of the same size at short notice! So can't guarantee it works. NB There doesn't seem to be any kind of indicator or screen to tell you when charging is finished. I guess you just put batteries in it for a while and then try them in your device.
