Free: Chess Life Magazines (Near the Cupertino Library) Several boxes - between the years of 1970-2010. Not in order. Some issues are missing. I would like to give them to someone who plays chess and/or is interested in learning. Are there any local chess clubs?
Free: National Geographic Magazines (Near the Cupertino Library) At least 2 boxes- most between the years of 1965-2000. Not in order. Only some issues. Take as many as you want.
Free: New Yorker Magazines (Near the Cupertino Library) 2 boxes- most between the years of 2001-2022. Not in order. Only some issues. Background: My father had a subscription, he valued and read the magazine for many years - even after his 101st birthday. He died last year and sharing the magazines is part of sharing his legacy. I find it interesting to look through the older issues- a combination of history and what current events look like- after time has passed. The cartoons are always interesting to read.
Free: Sara Stedy lift (Near the Cupertino Library) Gifted This is a lift that a caregiver can use to help someone with mobility issues transfer between a bed, a chair, toilet, or bedside commode. The person being transported holds onto the horizontal bar and stands up, the two halves of the seat are then pivoted behind their bottom & they can sit/lean back and be transported. The person needs to be strong enough to stand and be able to follow directions. This wonderful lift was given to us by a friend- it made a very positive difference when I was working with my father when he came back from the hospital. I am happy to answer any questions- I want this to go to someone who will benefit from it as much as we did. It is bulky and heavy (~30 kg/65 lb)- so you will need an appropriate vehicle for transporting it.
