Hot Point Fridge / Freezer (Pill Hill Lake Merritt)

Greetings, This fridge is only 6 years old. Cosmetically it is not in "new" condition, but in actual out-of-the-box NEW condition. No cracks, scratches or dents. It has been spotlessly cleaned inside and out. So why am I giving it away? It stopped working completely about two weeks back. Ecologically I prefer to repair than replace. I hired an appliance repair technician who replaced numerous parts related to the temperature and condenser controls (both thermostats, relays, switches etc.) He was able to get it up and running, but now it will not shut off, which turns the entire unit from a fridge / freezer to a full freezer. The repairperson returned but could not figure out what was wrong. I have decided to purchase a new fridge from Home Depot and in the process they will haul this basic white fridge/top freezer to landfill or some form of recycling. I am a big re-use person, so it would be great if someone out there can give this "broken" unit a new life. My suggestions are to try and fix it, or get it fixed, to perform as intended (keeping in mind that I have already had quite a few major and expensive parts replace). Or put into a garage or onto a patio as a full freezer, the top being for foods requiring deep freeze (below zero) and the bottom for food that prefers gentler freezing (10 to 20 degrees). Of course you could not let it run continuously (motor/compressor burn-out and a crazy high PGE bill), but you might be able to use a daily around-the-clock digital timer. I do not know what the exact schedule would be, but something akin to 15 minutes On / 45 minutes Off. (like most regular combo fridge / freezers). The fridge is free. The only stipulation is that you have the ability to haul a large appliance safely and professionally down from a second story apartment to the driveway (approx. 25 steps and one turn landing). Also, there is a deadline. Home Depot is coming next Thursday the 4th to deliver and haul away, so if you are interested, it needs to be no later than next Thursday AM. Please see attached pics for condition and model number. Please run the model number in the Home Depot website. Free Pottery Barn Wool Rug Dark Faun color This rug is very plush and has no holes or rips. It is in good condition except for some splotchy, discolored areas where there has been furniture or it or the pile has been brushed the wrong direction. It would be perfect for tent sleeping, or an outdoor festival, or a room where the discoloration can be hidden under a bed. It could also be cut into nice pieces for runners and smaller area rugs.
