I now have about 15 surplus purple sprouting broccoli seedlings. Most are almost big enough to plant out. They need to be planted 2ft apart and will produce purple sprouts next spring which need to be picked regularly. Picking normally continues for about six weeks until they go to flower. Collect any time. I can leave them on the doorstep for you.

Some seedlings are ready to plant out straightaway and some need to be grown on a bit in pots. They need to be planted 2 ft apart and will be ready to harvest next March or April through to the end of May. Protecting from pigeons with netting is advisable! I can leave them on my doorstep for collection any time.

These can be used in stews, soups or roasted. They can be planted 6 inches deep, 2 ft apart in rows, ideally along the hedge or a fence as the stems can grow to 10 ft. They will produce more tubers which can be harvested from November onwards.
