Apple 24" Imac with Linux Mint (North Laine BN1)

This is a 2008 Apple 24" Imac with 2.8Ghz core 2 Duo processor running the latest version of Linux Mint OS and it comes complete with a battered but usable keyboard, USB mouse and a power cable. The machine has 4 Gb RAM and a relatively new 320Gb hard drive (replaced by me), but it does NOT have a working DVD drive. This Imac was one I was using myself up until 2023 and was one of two Imacs which I previously used every day when running my own Apple sales and repair business in London until 2016. PLEASE NOTE: I would much prefer to give this to a disabled person, a person on low income or is unemployed or is a student, so if you do NOT fit into these categories please do not apply. If you are housebound I will do my best to deliver it to you if you live up to 20 mins walk of my home in North Laines

Big blonde real fur throw/blanket/rug (North Laine BN1)

I have this very attractive 160cm x 70cm pale blonde fur, which. has clearly been created by sewing together individual pieces of animal skin, which I would hate to throw away, and yet charity shops say they are not allowed to sell. It looks superb on a big settee etc, but I often think some creative person, like a fashion student could well make a unique and glamorous jacket and/or skirt out of it.....?

Epson Eco-Tank 4550 colour printer/scanner (North Laine BN1)

This is another of my street rescues, which I have tested with both scanning and printing and it seems to be working OK. I have printed out (above) one of my own photos of a lake at Wakehurst. All of the ink-tanks clearly have plenty of ink in them. But this printer has refillable ink-tanks which means you do not have to buy expensive cartridges, and the ink bottles are easily and cheaply available online. It has USB, wifi and ethernet connections. I would prefer, if possible, to give this to a disabled person, a person on low income or a student.

Beautiful Wilton carpet square 10' x 10' (North Laine BN1)

I have had this carpet rolled up in plastic since 2016 when I moved to Brighton from London, the pictures show it unrolled in my lounge, and I have tried to show the whole expanse in two halves. Please NOTE: this is a heavy and awkward item , which will require 2 people to remove. If you are in walking distance, then it would be feasible for 2 fit people to carry this away. Otherwise it will need a car or van to collect. The carpet is in overall very good condition, with a very few small marks, easily removable with carpet shampoo.

This is a six-colour printer which has had outstanding reviews on quality of output. This one is one of my street rescues, but I've tested it and it seems to be working fine. I comes complete with four new and sealed spare ink cartridges, but those in the machine are all usable. The picture shows one of my own photos, but on poor quality non-photo paper. I'd prefer if possible to give this to a student, a disabled person, or someone on low income. If you are housebound in the Brighton and Hove area I will do my best to deliver it to you if necessary.

Asus Zen Ai0 power adapter (North Laine BN1)

Has any kind person out there got either an Asus Zen Ai0 19volt power adapter they dont need OR could someone possibly lend me one very briefly. This is only to test one of my most recent street rescues, a Zen all-in-one PC (or imitation Imac ) which of course had no power adapter with it. I'm a retired computer engineer and whilst I have lots of similar laptop adapters none of them are suitable in this case, and I dont want to spend money on an adapter if the machine itself is likely to be broken up for the parts alone. Any offers of help gratefully received.....

I am trying to provide a table for a young disabled person who lives alone in one small room. He needs this to use the computer I just gave to him. Often I have recycled Ikea tables or their metal legs from the streets. So, if I have a set of legs I can make a top easily. Not fussy about condition, will travel to collect whatever......

I have an Hewlett-Packard Laserjet 1320N to give away. NOTE this will NOT print via Ethernet as the network card is defective BUT it WILL print fine over USB. It does 1200dpi duplex (double-sided) black and white. The toner cartridge (see picture) is 89% full. I rescued this machine from the streets and have tested it for functionality. The page count is 7985 which is only about 2 toner cartridges-worth

Vintage red leather chair (needs TLC) (North Laine BN1)

This red leather upholstered carver chair I rescued from the streets some time ago but simply dont have the time now to renovate. The leather is in slightly grubby but only scratched condition and should respond very well to cleaning. The exposed wodwork appears to be oak and only needs wire wool and elbow grease. The frame is solid and only needs a bit of strippng of old varnish and slight attention to leg joints. Upholstery itself in seat and back is good.

Antique (repro) Mantelpiece (North Laine BN1)

Rescued from a skip by me a few years ago, but unlikely I will use it now. Very solidly made, probably of beechwood, in 3 pieces: the mantelpiece itself and two matching supporting classical fluted columns, which assemble to make a frame for the fireplace itself, with an egg-and dart mouding to the edges. Needs a bit of minor TLC. When assembled the mantelpiece is 136cm wide and about 120cm high and has a fireplace opening of 91cm x 88cm, bear in mind some adjustments are possible to suit. Will require collection from North Laines
